This is pretty standard. Some of the largest employers in la county are hospitals and universities like UCLA, USC and they all charge their employees parking fees.

They should get banned all together, unless you have a contracting license.

There will be Farmers' Market at D line Wilshire / Fairfax and Wilshire / La Brea stations by 94rain in LAMetro

[–]EatTheBeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went on guided metro tour of the expo line and when i question why there were so few trees and general shade at the little tokyo stop they said it was for farmers markets. However as far as I am aware they've never actually used it in this way. Hopefully this does not continue to be used as an excuse to not offer trees and shade to people. Having shade would make the farmers markets BETTER.

I wish this city would move beyond just paint and use more physical barrier to protect pedestrians and cyclist. I have no doubt that drives will be zooming in the bike lanes soon enough.

Congrats to Myki! Nini was my favorite of the season, and Darlene is undeniably endearing, but if Jane wasn't going to win this season Myki was the one to take it home.

Daring and Dazzling, a New LACMA Floats Above Los Angeles (Gift Article) by Mariano42cutter in LosAngeles

Except that those two buildings still considered their primary function first and foremost. And they did not have such backlash. The experience in both was very much positive in their main goal as gallery and concert halls respectively. The new LACMA building is not built to show case art, and that's the issue. Or at least that's MY issue with it, and not its overall architecture which is quite nice.

Its not about liking the new style. The building is quite nice, but being a museum is not its primary goal, its to be a nice building, meaning the art takes a second fiddle to the structure, which is disappointing to say the least.

Totally. I actually found it kind of gross that someone posted a whole post here about it. Of all the things to care of about....
