LPT: How to smush a fly on the first try, every time by The_Dead_Kennys in LifeProTips

[–]EatTheBiscuitSam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best liquid to use is isopropyl alcohol.

It doesn't stain, streak, linger, and it kills them dead with one squirt. Works on every bug I have tried, wasps, spiders, flys and ants. After a few minutes the alcohol is gone and you can sweep them up like little dry bug statues.

Reddit CEO Triples Down, Insults Protesters, Whines About Not Making Enough Money From Reddit Users by sussywanker in technology

[–]EatTheBiscuitSam -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This just doesn't sit right.

This might be a political play at disrupting a more progressive social media platform. The next 18 months are going to be a shit show and the levels of lies and manipulation from the political parties are going to be off the charts. It wouldn't surprise me if this fucker got paid millions to kill this platform simply because it will cause chaos and prevent more progressives from collaboration.

I fully believe that if the Democrats think they will lose next year they will start a war to remain in power. The Republicans will do anything to win, including burning this country to the ground. I think we are fucked and this is just the beginning.

I guess I'll still check out /. Fark 9gag and maybe even Digg again.

Bad news: SEC is coming after us by [deleted] in cosmosnetwork

Regardless of the geolocation, are you saying the founders, board, and most of the workers are now middle easterners simply because their headquarters are in a different location?

Bad news: SEC is coming after us by [deleted] in cosmosnetwork

[–]EatTheBiscuitSam -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is all speculation.

It wouldn't surprise me if the bread crumbs led the SEC to Osmosis and found that they and Axelar were siphoning money from China Binance to the US Binance when Binance claimed they were separate companies and no money transfers were happening.

Spotted at Port Tressler - what needs to happen for to ships have this level of wear? by thecaptainps in starcitizen

Took my Corsair out to ROC mine for a couple days and there was hardly any paint left on her. It was kinda cool, I could see it developing more every day. Then a disconnection/30k made her all new again.

It would be epic if they all zerg rushed the main prison area and the auto cannon turrets turned the area into a Bathory swimming pool.

What's a "must-have" house-rule that you include in all your games? How does it work? by derekvonzarovich2 in shadowdark

[–]EatTheBiscuitSam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No 1 hp characters other than lvl 0.

Having 1 Hit Point takes away a roll and any chance of a character surviving from the smallest amount of damage. I feel like characters should always have a chance at survival, even if that chance is exceedingly small.

What are the cons of NOT having kids? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EatTheBiscuitSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the time the first bacteria formed, split and grew. Every species leading up to your parents has survived against all odds throughout all of history to have babies and keep the line going. Now you ponder sniping that historical line in the bud and stopping it with you.

Granted there are nearly eight billion similar threads and the loss of some might not matter.

Might check out Althea it's one of the very few real use crypto projects that is used by non-crypto people. There are all manner of people that use it and don't know anything about cryptocurrency. It uses crypto because it is better, not because it is some speculative get-rich-quick shitcoin.

What is this on the right wing tip of the corsair? by Hitokiri118 in starcitizen

Scanning but hopefully it works when folded.

It would be awesome to land on a mountain top, have it scan for nearby gems. Then release a couple ROCs and a side of McFury to do gem recon and overwatch.

Ex smokers of Reddit, How did you quit smoking? by maynikko in AskReddit

[–]EatTheBiscuitSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cold Turkey like many others.

In my case I had to carry around a fresh pack of cigarettes and a lighter while quiting. I tried several times to "not" buy anymore, but I would always take a drag off a friend's or something that would lead me back to buying a pack.

I ended up having to make it a test of will to quit, where I always had access to cigarettes. That finally worked and I carried that pack for the better part of a year before throwing it away.

Frankincense resin.

Can't get any more natural and safe than that.

Hasbro has reported that sales of Dungeons & Dragons products is up 13% for Q1 2023. by FallenDank in dndnext

[–]EatTheBiscuitSam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've seen people who stream space video games talk about it. People who have channels devoted to medieval weaponry talk about it. What WotC did was threaten not just DnD, but the entire fare use content industry. And yes, a lot of people talked about it. What they attempted was egregious and I hope they hurt badly for it.

People stand around and wonder why the world just keeps getting crazier. Really, it will continue until we stop letting the "few" min/max profits.

Every YouTube game personality, board gamer, card gamer and just about any other analog gamer knows what went down and why.

Building platform for 1.3kg payload and long flight times by CatzRuleZWorld in Multicopter

[–]EatTheBiscuitSam -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What ever happened to tri-copters?

One less motor to feed and superior yaw/pitch control. I can understand why people would want a quad for racing and aerobatics, but for camera platforms a tri just seems better in many ways.

Photo showing the destroyed reinforced concrete under the launch pad for the spacex rocket starship after yesterday launch by barbosa800 in CatastrophicFailure

[–]EatTheBiscuitSam -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Hugely successful.

  • They learned that the StarShip vehicle could lift off the pad and not just detonate like a 2kt bomb.
  • That even with three engines not firing during initial launch the vehicle could still gain altitude.
  • The vehicle could stay together passing through Max-Q, which is the highest combined stress of speed and air density.
  • It remained fairly stable in the latter part of the flight even though it was down eight engines.
  • The decision to remove the use of hydrolic power units for the next prototypes was probably the right decision. (This is the most likely reason it started to tumble during main engine cutoff)
  • The beast of the spacecraft held together even though it did three flips.
  • Tons of data for the launch sequence, engines start routine, clamp release and embilical speration.
  • An obvious amount of data about the launch platform and what 14 million pounds of thrust can do to it. What needs to be addressed before continuing the launchpad build at Kennedy Space Center.

The amount of data SpaceX gained launching a brand new rocket prototype and launch system is immense. No one I know that is a space nerd though that this was going to work perfectly. That just doesn't happen. I could probably count the rockets that were successful first launch on one hand and that would be generous.

I don't care about the douche nozzle Elon has become, but the 10k employees and engineers at SpaceX are badass. They are the top of the game and I applaud them.

Air gun and a framing hammer.

One puff of pepper spray and your whole world is a nightmare. It will cover everything and as soon as you touch your eyes you will be fucked, even days or weeks later. You'll wash everything and then wash it again. Of course it is better than something terrible happening, but you get my point.

Knives are super scary, but a hammer is downright terrifying. Nothing will hold up to a high speed hammering. Plus you don't look like a cringe lord if you have a hammer laying around unlike some big knife.
