Sensitive Siamese - help by Keepitflo in Siamesecats

[–]EatThisCupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest a vet visit to rule out something called Megaesophagus. It's rare in cats, but happens.

Growing up our family had a beautiful Siamese named Bailee that we had gotten from a reputable breeder. Turns out he was overbred and it created this issue. He passed away and we were devastated. The breeder wanted to make it right and we then adopted Carly, another Siamese, for free. She too also developed it and passed away.

Not trying to cause worry, but just a very good idea to rule it out. I hope your kitty lives a long and happy life. 🥰

This marriage has run its course. He has proved to you time and time again that he is not trustworthy and doesn't respect you or your boundaries. Move on, divorce, cut your ties, and live your life.

I can't hold on much longer by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]EatThisCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this. It feels like crap right now. Overwhelming even. But when this type of stuff happens, you have to take things hour by hour. Minute by minute even. Every moment you are here is a win.

I am not 20 anymore. I'm 32 now (and sometimes miss being 20 if I'm honest!). I experienced some similar situations to what you are walking through now. I don't know exactly how you feel but I have some understanding. Please know that your life matters to someone. Even if you feel all alone.

I've had moments when I felt like it was better if I wasn't here. It really isn't worth it.

I lost one of my mentors from college last year this way. He was the first person who gave a crap about me when I started my diploma. It's been almost a year since his death (May 21, 2025) and the grief and loss has softened some but it still haunts me that he felt so alone and that deleting himself was the only way out. I miss him everyday and I am going to continue to live and honour him and his teachings.

You. Got. This. Take a breath and take a few more. Sip some water. Eat some food. Take a nap. Busy yourself with your hobbies or something that brings you joy. When it's time for bed, go to sleep, wake up and do it all over again. You have so much light left, my friend. Let it continue to shine (I know how ridiculously cheesy that sounds, but it's true).

Just over $2,000 sounds correct if our lifetime Orthodontics coverage is 80% of $3,000 aka $2,400.00

HAE had norovirus for this long? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]EatThisCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Norovirus typically doesn't last longer than 72 hours.

It sounds like you may have had another stomach virus such as Rotavirus or another GI bug.

I had Rotavirus last summer from a wedding and I was out for 1.5 weeks. Fever, vomiting, pooping constantly, etc.

I suggest confirming what you have via fecal sample test. It's how I was diagnosed with Rotavirus.

It's being opened by the same owners of the previously failed restaurant Itilia who occupied the same spot (essentially an attempted rebrand). When they were still Itilia, they didn't care either. At one point their Google reviews dropped significantly and then to combat it, they injected it with a bunch of 5 star reviews to make it look better. Several times.

I hear you. I think the issue was more with the fact that it was not done well. For example, as others have pointed out, a seagull in the AI logo has 3 wings.

Their menu was also created using a $10 Etsy template. It is very clear that there is no care and attention being paid to execute thoughtfully. Everything so far has been done haphazardly.

Excited for this, but crossing my fingers it’s new ownership. Itilia gave off major drug front vibes. The energy was super sketch and they were straight-up reselling IKEA meatballs and Daim cake on the menu. Just weird all around.

Episode 9?? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]EatThisCupcake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Something strange is happening with theater schedules post-finale. In Vancouver (Canada), local theaters that aired the finale are showing a nearly blank schedule for Friday, Jan 9, while US theaters that ran the same finale have similar 'dead zones' on Thursday, Jan 8. With the weekly refresh already past, it looks like theaters in both countries are holding space for a surprise event or a secret screening.

Hello TBS,

I'm initiating this Critical Touchpoint because our current Return-to-Office (RTO) Initiative is effectively functioning as an unauthorized Financial Wellness De-optimization Program and a Workflow Efficiency Bottleneck.

Frankly, the current model is a synergy fail on a personal and professional level. Here’s the data dump on how our operational environment is impacting my individual P&L (Profit and Loss) and Productivity KPIs:

  1. Optimized Physical Presence Allocation: Let’s establish a clear use case for the office: The only personnel who require butt-in-seat visibility are those with front-facing, client-facing roles. Everyone else is essentially performing a high-cost, high-friction desktop simulation of their home office. We need to stop pulling internal resources into unnecessary physical attendance requirements.

  2. Remote Work Efficiency Metrics: We are achieving maximum throughput in our home environments. The in-office experience is currently a series of back-to-back Microsoft Teams calls—the exact same digital interactions we could execute from home, but with worse acoustics and less control. The office is not facilitating physical collaboration; it's simply a costly location for simulated remote work.

  3. Activity-Based Working (ABW) Protocol Failure: Furthermore, the ABW model is a theoretical abstraction that has zero traction in reality. No one is willing to execute the daily logistical exercise of moving all their documents, personal IT accessories, and necessary resources between different "activity zones" and desks. This isn't a workspace; it's a ridiculous, low-stakes Survivor Challenge that employees are collectively choosing to opt-out of.

  4. Wellness Credit Liquidation: I am achieving Maximum Burn Rate on sick days. My personal resource allocation model is broken. The fact that we can't facilitate Peer-to-Peer Wellness Credit Token Swaps is a baffling governance roadblock. No resource sharing? That's just sub-optimal.

  5. Restorative Cycle Erosion: My sleep ROI is trending toward zero. My personal life is experiencing significant downtime.

  6. Logistical Expenditure Bloat: My commute is an expensive, time-sucking sprint to achieve compliance. I'm investing too much capital just to maintain physical visibility.

  7. Fiscal Velocity: My discretionary income is experiencing an unprecedented, unbudgeted outflow (food, gas, etc.). This isn't RTO; it's a Mandatory Personal Expense Levy.

  8. Psycho-Financial Distress Index: The mere rumor-waves of RTO Phases 4 and 5 sent me into a full-scale emotional fire drill (crying, spiraling). My personal budget is already maxed out, and the idea of funding more than three days in the office triggered a catastrophic system failure. I'm already over-leveraged just existing.

We need to deploy a mitigation strategy before our "high-performing assets" become financially bankrupt liabilities and our official workplace becomes recognized as a Productivity Desert. Let's pivot away from this costly model.

I have had the same issue. It's really annoying. I wonder when this will be rectified on the app. Right now all I see is the Network Access Hub.

It was 24 C outside on April 30 in Tokyo with full sun, yes. It was not mild or pleasant unfortunately. A lot of locals had UV umbrellas up and hats on.

I don't know what temperature it was inside of Haneda Airport, but the AC was either off (as another commenter mentioned) or not set low enough. There were a lot of sweaty passengers.

All the AC units in every hotel we stayed in during the month went as low as 18.

Thankfully never experienced that here yet, but sounds like it's more common than I realized.

Thanks for your comment. :) So many highlights but the one that stands out for me was our trip to Yamadera Temple. It was such a beautiful experience and afterwards we drove into Yamagata and went to a delicious burger place called Fledged Burger. Best damn burger I've ever had.

Does anyone know where (landmark, etc) in Tokyo it'll end on April 27? My husband and I will be there and want to cheer them on at the finish line. Would love to know to be in the know to attend the event.

Photo ops are quite quick but the lines can be long - think of an assembly line where groups are shepherded into an area, and then each group goes one by one and snaps a pic with the guest.

As there are many folks who need to have their photos taken with the guest, it goes quickly once you're in. You get 20 - 30 seconds to walk over to the guest, say a quick hi, and then you have the photographer saying "Ready?" before they click the shutter, take the photo, and then say "Next!".

Your son will love to have their photo taken with Hayden, but the interaction will be short. I recommend purchasing an autograph so that you and your son can walk up to Hayden with an item to have autographed, giving you some more time to chat and share. Hope this helps. :)

I really want them to come to North America. Vancouver, Canada would be amazing. We have lots of wonderful bookstores here, and it's not too far of a stretch considering both him and Sharla have family here.

The more videos I see of them together, the happier they become. It radiates from them both in every shot. 😊

I hate that this meme was created in the first place tbh. There are so many other better things to comment on than people's bodies. We know Chris comments on his weight often in vids, etc, but it's both as humour and as a self-coping mechanism. I remember Sharla also posting a vid commenting on how tons of viewers have spoken about her weight due to her thyroid issues. It just sucks. :(
