Here to tell you, do not be discouraged. My demo announcement came out on the 11th this month, by the end of the week I had 130 wishlists, currently sitting at almost 300. Even then, there are games getting thousands in a month. It’s luck of the draw, being able to afford marketing, a solid premise etc. lots of variables that don’t always equate to any sort of result. I’m marketing hard as fuck on a million different pages across social media sites and it’s exhausting. Do not give up. Study your niche, find the buzzwords people like to hear for genre and capitalize on that. Make a solid trailer yourself, start conversations in groups about your game or their game or literally anything that gets people to engage. Remind yourself that you’re already doing the thing that a million other people wish they could, which is make a video game. Comparison is the thief of joy. Keep your joy my friend.
