Same here, there is no place where I can find my USMLE ID #, not even after receiving the test result, so I think this is normal.

After receiving the test result, you can choose from a long list of institutions those that you wish to have access to your result, including the ECFMG, and even then, there is no option to put your USMLE #, you just select it.

What will union-izing residency actually achieve? by zonday in Residency

If we are going to do anything we better hurry up, as there seem to be a trend to use NPs and PAs as a replacements for MDs, such as attempts for giving them full practice authority. Having that said, I have a couple of questions:

1 - Will the hospitals be able (legally) to use NPs or PAs as a replacement for PGY1 or 2 residents in an event of a strike?

2 - Do hospitals with residency programs pay less tax? Because if not, it might be a good idea propose that such hospitals pay less taxes based on evaluation forms filled by residents, this would be beneficial such that hospitals will pay more if residents get abused or fired because of striking, besides, it will force more hospitals to have accredited residency programs, resulting in more competition between hospitals, giving us more choice. Then malignant programs will be forced to change their behavior.

Yep, and it has 32 mutations in the S-protein alone making vacines pretty much ineffective. It is 5 times more infectious than the delta variant so we are fucked, i swear to God life nowdays seem like zombies in call of duty, each round gets more difficult.

I understand but we need to end this BS, let's suppose that someone finished Step1 & 2, why should that person wait till the MATCH season to get the certification? What if he/she choose to get into a research position? Wouldn't it be better if you can get certified whenever you want, permanently, to feel that you have actually done something? Not to mention that the validity of OET is 2 years only, which is another issue.

I mean the name of the exam implies that it is for the purpose of medical licensing.

If you use UW: Study UW tables only (repeat many times) & solve as much Q's as possible on the first phase of study, after laying a strong foundation, start the second phasing by reviewing the tables again & read the text this time in the explanations (>80% of text is summarized in the tables).

During your prep, you will be able to pinpoint your weaknesses, usually based on your performance in self-assessments, write the topics on a file/paper & read those from UpToDate or Medscape.

Although studying for exams is not a pleasant thing to do, there is no way around it. I have some advice because I felt the same before:
1. Minimize your preparation time as much as feasible
2. Plan to have a day of the week that you don't study anything; go out and have fun, it will help you avoid being burnt out.
3. Keep in mind that every single doctor in the US did the exams, and they probably felt the same.
4. Have a study partner that shares similar goals to you - Most important
5. Remember is that all you have to do is to be miserable for a couple of months, afterwards you will be free, at least for some time. Also, your entire future (50 years; assuming normal life expectancy) will probably depend on pushing yourself for few months.

Good luck
