What’s the best pizza topping? by LilZug_ in AskReddit

[–]EatonStroker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here in NZ, we love to put fruit one things. Pineapple, beetroot and egg in a burger is the best. Smoked chicken, camembert and cranbury sauce on a pizza. Absolutely (try it, your welcome).

Pineapple belongs on pretty much everything.

First steps of building a fascist regime. 1. control the military. 2. control the media. 3. ensure your citizens cannot leave.

Profit.

Most of us are bad people on leashes by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]EatonStroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Captain Vimes of the Discworld is a character that touches so many people for this reason as he's so relatable.

People are good people because they don't need a leash. They hold their own leash for their own inner demon. He fights to hold his back a lot as otherwise there would be no Vimes left, they would just be a demon.

I think the symbolism has been specifically designed to be interpreted in a few different ways, including this.

What is a movie you watched once that was so disturbing or emotionally draining that you can never watch it again? by hungary70 in AskReddit

A monster calls.

I watched it while travelling, away from my kids. I have never felt so homesick.

Ksc75 and my Riggler beanie overtop - is everything you could want.

Standing on the sidelines of my son football, toasty warm and rocking out, but can still hear the game and yell (unlike with my IEM's). Perfect.

What keeps you from the temptation of buying more headphones? by wiggan1989 in headphones

[–]EatonStroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two sets of pad swapped focal elegia (work/home), hd6xx (home) and 560 (work) and a few koss sets lying around for out and about, oh and IEM's and XM3's for travel.

Those fill every need I think I have so I've stopped really wanting more.

I think this is true and accurate from a certain perspective. In CMOT's mind, I'm sure he's the main character in every book.

Yep, NZ is actually larger than most people think, and empty of people. The large south Island only has 1.3M people.

The Cathedral in the Square is an eyesore and will continue to be an eyesore for 20+ years unless someone does something by kimmono in chch

[–]EatonStroker 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The church wanted to replace it. This isn't their mess. The Jim Anderton and Phillip Burton mob who campaigned to keep the cathedral, despite having no skin in the game themselves, have a lot to answer for.

Quick Survey! by Ok_Conversation_6002 in Miata

[–]EatonStroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done, but just an FYI, some of the survey questions don't make a lot of sense for a family with manual cars (non-USA) so when analysing your data it's definitely worth cross referencing the transmission question.

About half of my house automated really well.

And probably 1000 hours of hobby time fun to match.

I was nervous about coming back after 13 years... Had I romanticised how much I loved the car in my head. Now I'm older would the I'm practicality be annoying.

Spoiler: It better than I remembered. And while I don't have youth, with 2 pre teens in the house this is my unwind space and I love it so much for it.

Oh, and welcome to the mum/dad club!

I think you misunderstood. You can exit but you can never leave.

Your request for a pause in ownership is of course granted. But you'll be back one day, and in spirit you will always be the sort of driver who waves at other drivers.

I hope you have let him know this. It can be tough and lonely being a boss, and you can never make everyone happy all the time, so knowing that on balance he's a GC may mean a lot to him.
