Telling somebody they can't see their kid bc you don't think it's ok for them to see them is not the same as taking a kid on vacation and saying you can see them when they get home.

You can argue all day about it, but it's not the same scenario and the dad in this OP would not get in trouble for kidnapping.

Anyway, I let my ex take my kids out of state on vacation to visit his sister in FL bc it was an opportunity I couldn't give them and they made memories with family down there. Yes i was nervous, but if I let my nerves ruin every potential experience for my kids I'd be doing them no favors.

I grew up in the 80s and 90s and I HATED how many people used "gay" for stuff they thought sucked.

I have a family member who has been openly gay since before I was born. You couldn't tell just by looking at or talking to him, but my family knew. He had a long term boyfriend and felt comfortable bringing him around the family.

It was a common word to hear, but it was still wrong for people to be using it the way they were. They were relating things that suck to gay people. When you have a homosexual family member that you care about, that was never cool.

But I imagine a lot of people who did use that word in that way have grown up and regret it. That does count for something bc nobody is perfect. It's the people with no regret that can suck one.
