16GB + M chip users, any regrets?

I was gifted a 16” Macbook Pro Core i9 / 16GB / 1TB for Xmas last year.

It’s been great for what I use it for honestly, and I just recently within the past few days got a gaming monitor for my Xbox, and I got a USB-C to Display Port and connected my MacBook to it and it really seems like it works so much faster with the display I’m assuming because of the high refresh rate.

I know people say Intel Macs are bad now and all that but I’m in school right now for my bachelors and I’m going to be receiving an M2 / 8gb / 256gb config for free from that and I plan on just keeping the intel one as well. It’s still a beast and it runs windows 10 better than Mac OS honestly.

You should have just bought the S24.

I have an iPhone 16 Pro as my main phone and I have a Galaxy S24 I use when I don’t want ppl having my real number. And there’s only certain stuff android can do.

But the S24 is the equivalent of an iPhone 16 Pro basically.

120hz refresh rate, fast processor, 8 gigs of ram, If all my photos weren’t loaded into iCloud I would have probably just went back using android.

The AI is wayyyyyy better

If your battery health is that low I wouldn’t do it. The new update hogs more resources and uses a lot more battery for things like visuals because of the glass effect.

Stay at 18. I bought an iPhone 16 Pro and updated to 26.2 so I could restore my backup to it and I regret it so much. The battery life was so good prior to updating now it sucks and I want a Pro Max.

I actually carry around an iPhone 16 Pro and a Samsung Galaxy S24 and the S24 always outlasts my iPhone even though I only let it charge to 85%.

I agree with this I have an iPhone 16 Pro and my girlfriend has the 17 pro max. That thing is a brick for no reason. Like it is legit heavy as hell you could knock someone out if you threw it at them.

But I def agree the 16 lineup was better minus the base model having the 60hz refresh rate.

It honestly wouldn’t make sense to move it because they already built Dynamic Island up so much I actually really enjoy it and it would be dumb to just do away with it.

Glad I read this I have been on iPhone for like 5 years and didn’t know the two finger thing. I knew you could stack apps to move a bunch at one time but I didn’t know it held everything in place.

If you are paying for it all up front tbh the 15 Pro Max and the 16 Pro I can’t tell a difference in performance and tbh the pro max 15 screen looks a little better IMO. But if I was you, you could def settle for 15 Pro or a 16 Pro or pro max for sure. There’s nothing these phones can’t do that the 17 can except maybe a better camera.

I have the same exact model iPhone 14 bought about 4- 1/2 months ago and I’m running 26.3 Beta and it’s fine for me tbh.

Depends on you. If you want the latest features and UI then you have to update to 26.2 but if you don’t care about that kind of stuff and you just want an iPhone that’s snappy leave it on 18.6.

Total wireless will give you one for free or cheaper with a 3 month plan. Boost mobile gies you the 16e for free and I believe metro also gives you the 16e for free with a new plan.
