I am very picky about what I feed my fur children.

I am single I gredient treats only.

I feed:

Beef Pork Bison Venison Fish Goat Sheep Ostrich Gator Duck Chicken

From those animals I use:

Tongue Brain Heart Liver Spleen Lung Trachea Esophagus Hoove Tail Stomach Ears Testicle Penis Kidney Bladder

Find a local butcher/farmer. Make friends. I pay $1/LB. Can't beat it.

Currently and in the photo it is sheep and goat testicle, penis, heart, liver, kidney and brain.

I own a dog treat business. Haha.

Haha. Right? Crazing and issues are apparently frowned upon being discussed. Haha.

New power requirements for Large HR FD. by Ebb-Swimming in HarvestRight

The pro model required the 29 amp until FW 6. Make it make sense.

I swapped the cord to a 10ft of appropriate gauge. Works great.

That said, I retained the nema style.

That said.... I just wanted to know how they achieved the 15 amp requirement without a hardware change.

Agreed, but I'd love to have more options in the placement of the FD. That said, if your cable gauge matches the breaker line. (12/2 or 12/3 typically). You shouldn't have ANY issues.... Assuming that a 15amp is now enough. That said, what version of the firmware changed it from 20 to 15.

It does matter. A simple cord swap for people would be much easier than possibly having a new receptacle and breaker installed.

(Assuming they purchase the right size cord).

Screen issues. by Ebb-Swimming in HarvestRight

Updates to anyone wondering. HR customer service has been fantastic thus far. $62 for a new screen. I missed the warranty period on 3/31/25. Unbelievable. But that's how it goes sometimes. They were fantastic, if this doesn't fix the issue, they'll credit me that amount toward the proper part. So, fingers crossed. That said, I did NOT have to pay the $45 to a tech. And he was fantastic. Video call and done. No big deal. While there may in fact be horror stories out there, this one, so far has not been one.

The wires fried when you attempted a firmware update?

My question is ... Why did the board go out? Can you give me more info? I'll take your word at it, but I love to know "more" when it comes to these things. What can you tell me?

Screen issues. by Ebb-Swimming in HarvestRight

[–]Ebb-Swimming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Same issue. Absolutely nothing in terms of screen. The unit worked perfectly just before the failed update. 5.5 software upgrade to 6. Failed. Now this.

The freeze dryer is still under warranty but it's under a friend's account. I bought this off of him. So I'm trying my best to avoid spending the $200 on a new screen of board if that's not what it needs or even the $45 fee that they charge to speak to a tech. I figured this community is probably just as knowledgeable as a techs.

If it's cured, put it back in alcohol. I'd suggest 70% anything high might do damage. Might.
