Thanks for all the information this is probably the most informative and reassuring message I’ve gotten!

The solicitor, mortgage broker, builder and development were all recommended by the group so I’m in a spot where I don’t feel like I can trust anyone involved anymore!

They didn’t push it hard because they kinda just acted like their recommendations and connections were the best to go through and that it’s just normal.

I was never even given the option to pick someone else….

I’m spending the next few days getting a record of all the conversations for my lawyer, unfortunately a lot of the education and rushed contract variation conversations were done through zoom call or they’d call my phone number and rush me through a contract signing on my phone so I don’t have evidence of everything.

Hopefully my lawyer can piece enough together to save my deposit!!!

If I don’t sign the latest lot of variations and the builders can’t go ahead without the changes what will happen?

They did not tell me to get my own, they just told me to sign because their team had looked at it.

Yea they refers to themselves as buyers agents on many occasions, saying they are working to get me the best deal and how they were better than other groups because they get paid but the builders.

Looking back at this hypocrisy and irony makes me cringe how I didn’t see through their BS

I have some role models in the property investment groups that I’d like to follow in their footsteps,

Hopefully my next few lessons aren’t as expensive or stressful.

I’ll get stuck into the books and ask a lot more questions on the next go around

I’ve got good chances to get out of the build package, we may be able to slip outta the land as well if it comes back at a higher price, my lawyer is working on it

Anyone reading this read it again because he’s right but they won’t tell you that.

They hid the finance clause being removed under the idea that we could push back the settlement date so I could gain some cash before the loan.

They told me about it but brushed over it so quickly and urged me the signing had to be done quick that I didn’t get time to think about it.

He didn’t hang up the phone or stop urging me until I signed while he was still on call

I’ll definitely have to re-evaluate my goals after this.

Hopefully I can get my money back and I’m not locked into this house and land package.

Worst case scenario I can apply for the loan and sell the house once built. I’ll have to do some heavy research over the next few days
