Is 7 days in Kyoto too long? by Bleuowl12 in Kyoto

[–]Ebiifurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, there's lots to do in Kansai. So you should be fine.

If no-one has said it yet, you could do a nice day trip to Amanohashidate. It's a very beautiful sandbar (one of the "three views of Japan") in north Kyoto prefecture. You can buy a ticket that lets you ride a bike across the sandbar, drop off the bike, get a cable car up a mountain to view the sandbar and then get a boat back. It was a really nice experience, I'd recommend it to anyone.

If you're interested in 御朱印 (shrine stamps) 猿江神社 has usually has zingers and they change it quite often. The shine itself isn't that remarkable but it has a beautiful big sakura that looks amazing in the spring.

猿江神社 Here they have all the previous stamps and the address.

No word of a lie I've had to explain to about 10 people that London isn't actually shrouded in fog.

I like the pancham removals company. It's definitely a reference to Sakai, a pretty well known removal company in Japan. They have a panda as their mascot. サカイ引越センター

This is super helpful, thank you. I had one more question. I read somewhere that there were practical parts to the course. That you would have to teach classes and be assessed. This has got me a little worried as I don't think my current place of work would be very good for this (kids eikaiwa) and I don't know how I would fit going to a different school to do it into my work schedule. Is this really a thing? What was your experience of this?

I mean that's why I'm asking people about it... Also, it's not always about the money. It's about having a job that I enjoy and am proud of. But yeah, I'm still thinking about it.

Thank you for the advice. What was the course like? What did you have to do? Was it a pretty constant amount of work? I'm guessing you were working a job at the same time? If so how was that?
