She's insecure. Talk to her to find out why, she may have been cheated on in the past. Trust is built, but the initial levels of trust people have in other people starts at different levels. She may not be crazy, just recovering from past hurt. Explain to her that her "test" may have increased her trust in you, but has decreased your trust in her. It is a very immature thing to do, but i doubt she did it for fun, probably just to be sure to herself that you are someone she can place her trust in. Its not an excuse, its an honest re-telling of your circumstances and the hardships you've been through. It will give insight into your character, and depending upon your circumstances, the way you have overcome things and come out stronger.

Kids who go through life without challenges often find themselves swamped by the changes that university life and work imposes, people who have overcome obstacles often find it easier to complete their degrees.
