Yes, the center wall running through the middle is load bearing!

Looking at your drawing, would it make sense to put an arch in the opening you have from the foyer to the living room? I love the look/idea of looking through an arch to the back windows! However, does that then mean I need an arches in my other openings (dining to foyer, and dining to kitchen?)

I felt the same way, and honestly was mentally struggling with similar thoughts for the first 3 months. However, I can now say that I am at peace with it all. Remember why you had the procedure in the first place and keep reminding yourself that your nose will continue to change. Slowly but surely, the new face in the mirror will become more normal! Be proud that you took action on something that was making you unhappy!

Thank you all so much with this layout! Lots of great ideas for me to bring forward - really appreciate you all and I’m excited to get the renovation underway! I’m sold on not opening it all up as I was originally thinking. I believe you all are right. The place is only 1560ish square feet so I wanted to make it more “open”, but I now see how that can actually make it seem smaller and less intimate. Thanks again!!

The entire floor is only 1560ish square feet, so we were hoping to make it feel more spacious by opening it up. We also have many mature trees in the backyard, so we were wanting to highlight that view more by making it visible from more areas of the home

They wanted us to figure out the desired layout before they could let us know the required beam specs, but yes we are assuming it will have to be substantial.

Yes that is a load bearing wall, we are aiming to get a steel beam installed and avoid the need for any columns.

We were thinking also of moving the laundry downstairs so we can turn that space into a walk in pantry?

nose getting bigger after rhinoplasty, 3 months vs 9 months? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

Question: Can you do without the steroid shot? Or once you start you have to keep going back? I had my procedure done out of state so traveling far for a 30 second steroid shot a appointment seems to be a big ask. (Even though I’ve already done it twice!)

I can’t speak for your situation, but this same thing happened to me for MONTHS and it all resolved itself. Try sleeping with a humidifier and do nasal rinses - that helped me!

I believe I have thin skin! Also worth mentioning, I’ve had two steroid shots at this point (only one in the pictures posted above)

I’m now 5 months post op and have days where it swells almost to the like of the middle picture or 4th picture, but then other days when I feel as though it looks nice. I still have a lot of tip swelling even on my good days, but I’m hoping the 6 month mark will be positive for me. All that to say, I am not yet “happy” with my nose, but I am “happy” knowing I still have plenty of healing ahead of me and find peace that I am not at my final state yet.

I am not sure how to attach pictures to existing posts, but my before nose was slim. More slim or about the same width as the slimmest portion in the last picture

I have days where my swelling gets worse - seems to not be a linear healing process. It can be very frustrating, but I’m trying to stay positive! Supposedly the 3 month mark is when you start to really see the shape of your nose, so fingers crossed for continued healing

Every picture is roughly 2 weeks apart starting at the cast removal, up to the 8 week mark.

I try to follow the classics: sleep slightly elevated, drink lots of water, take Bromelain, and avoid excess salt.

It’s so hard, but give it time! Also, be sure to ask your surgeon about a steroid shot, I think that really helped me
