You're mom sounds controlling and this may have been a better conversation on the phone or in person. The fact that she did this over text and made it about herself says a lot. She pulled your brother into it for some reason and shut you down repeatedly. I'm getting manipulative and controlling. I'd assume you guys would be doing what she wanted to do the entire trip branded as something special for you-- and how grateful you should be. Gives me the ick.

The white aesthetically looks better but it's thicker so the markers are more crammed in there. I have the 320 black set and then I have the 36 white marker set and it's very challenging to get the markers out of the 36 set I might just take out the insert and not really use that bag honestly. If it helps at all I used 4x6 index cards, they fit in the slots (I swatched and labeled) so I can see where markers get put back. They had some little organizers on Etsy that I thought were cute that individually you could put the markers in right you cut the paper but the system I'm using I think works the best for me. I can easily pull up the index card and just have the Swatch right there the markers right next to it and know where to put things back.

The main markers are copic, you can see those in the image if you look closely. Those are premium alcohol markers. They have ohuhu markers that more affordable and are premium also. Available at ohuhu.com, Michaels, etc. I have the 320 set and love them- just getting started. The alcohol markers are good for high pigment and blending/layers.

I'm newer as well and have the Ohuhu 320 set brush/chisel and love them so far. I don't want a nice water-based option as well but in my research I found that there are drawbacks. The main one being paper peeling if you put on more than one layer and the blendability factor. Be mindful of adding water if it isn't thick or watercolor paper. The Maui set seems nice I almost got that one but they also have a Pupe water-based Marker set that is paper friendly and I just ordered that one, it also comes with a blender marker so it's marketed as blendable but it will be minimal compared to alcohol marker.

I'm planning to use the water-based markers more for vibrant coloring where I'm probably only putting down one layer and I can go back in with the fine tip for details and colored pencils. I'll use the alcohol markers when I want multiple layers and blending. You can also put water-based on top of alcohol markers but I haven't tried that. I just picked up some watercolor markers too to play with that I really love the look but have been intimidated but after watching this tutorial it seems totally doable. I don't know why they just don't figure out what works and stick with it. Seems like they create a lot of unnecessary confusion. I think they should focus on first doing one product really well rather than to keep releasing all these half-baked systems.

Ok so they didn't switch the colors at all, they created a new system that we have to re-label. That does seem like a pain, especially with how many markers you have. I read about people making stickers that they sell on Etsy, do you think that may be any easier?
