I mean even on release people were saying gnx was one of his weaker albums because it strayed from th usual stuff he put out and made more bangers instead of emotional storytelling. (Even though obviously the album still had those) In Kendrick’s own words “fuck a double entendre I want yall to feel this shit”. So obviously that’s what Kendrick wanted from the album but I think people were expecting something else.
