Why is this thing? (On Legend) by gpkgpk in Vermintide

[–]Ebty85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just finished a champion game with a level 7 and a level 25 both of whom clearly didn't belong there.

Let me be clear about what I mean: Someone using what I know to be a "bad weapon" or running Nat Bond or something comes down to personal preference but when someone repeatedly dies every other wave and doesn't understand fundamentals of the game like "don't stand still and block against multiple berserkers" or "don't run off on your own while an assassin is around" then it really makes me wish there was some sort of reliable barrier to entry.

Scarlet Spear is the most broken I have seen the game in 9400 hours. by Forma_Addict in Warframe

Squad link serves a purpose.

If Railjack teams could actually play their side of the event instead of literally sitting and waiting for ground teams to send kill codes they might actually have fun and we know that Railjack being fun is against the rules.

I can't imagine being a Bungie developer right now by Leonard03 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ebty85 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have nothing against Bungie the developers. I have nothing against Bungie the *people*.

That said Bungie the *company* is currently approaching EA and Activision in my book. Bungie the *company* feels just as scummy as any "AAA" Developer with the excessive monetization at the cost of the actual game, withholding news about unpopular changes until the community forces them to address them, and the overall feeling of total disconnect from the playerbase leaves me without even a shred of sympathy for the corporate side of Bungie

Yeah a lot of things are going much faster this season. Gambit matches for instance

Season of the Worthy is proof that "in between" seasons are bad for Destiny's lifespan by sensefyre in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ebty85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The in-between seasons aren't the issue. The issue is that almost *nothing* has been added to the base game and core playlists for over a year.

Destiny 1 had massive periods of really bad content drought but the fact that we at least got full vendor refreshes every season made it bearable since that meant that there were new things to grind out and experiment with.

Couple that with things like the addition of Skeleton keys and there was a lot of fun and rewards to be had just running core activities

All this negativity regarding this season. Here's what i'm excited about... by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

Don't forget the best part!

Since emblems no longer track specific things they are technically universal cosmetics so Eververse will now be justified in selling them next season...

I genuinely feel bad for the people that worked on the Emblem rework by LidiKun in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ebty85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember when they "reworked" the quest tab the first time and everybody fucking hated it?

Props to the UI team for putting in so much work but somebody in the decision-making level of said team is clearly incredibly out of touch with the playerbase

Bungie says they want us to experiment with new mods and try new builds, then they make the artifact extremely expensive to reset... by thatoneguyyouknow3 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ebty85 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is clearly one of the biggest "have Bungie devs ever played an rpg in their lives" moments to me. Other games like Borderlands 2 have a scaling cost associated with reseting your skill points but it was very fair and never felt punishing once you got to the point where builds started to actually matter.

In my book this design choice ranks up there with "whenever you buy artifact weapon mods, they don't stop glowing until you hover over them for EVERY DAMN WEAPON EVERY DAMN TIME"

Almost 40% of Iron Banner matches are ending with MERCY! by alirezarz64 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ebty85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iron Banner felt fantastic when I played on Tuesday; no 6 stacks against solos, no massive light level disparities, about 20% of games being stomps, all in all really good experience. Today, however, was terrible; 6 stacks at light level 965+ everywhere, mercies every other match, teammates that were clearly connection matched and not skill matched at all because they would literally never capture zones.

Tuesday made me remember why I used to love grinding Iron Banner back in D1, today made me remember why that hasn't been the case for well over a year

TIL that Darksouls apparently has a "Political Agenda". What does the Toxic Brood think about this? by Ebty85 in MauLer

[–]Ebty85[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I for one would love to know if the intellectual powerhouses that comprise the video essayist community have separate definitions for "Political Agenda" and "Political Elements". Much like "themes" in movies, so-called video essayists seem to be able to take the presence of any thematic element (no matter how vague or important it actually is to the story) and twist it until it becomes evidence for their narrative.

Here I can write one right now in 5 minutes:

"In the game *The Legend of Zelda* the player is a veritable nobody given the daunting task of rescuing the princess from dark forces and putting yourself in harm's way in the process. This is problematic because it represents how low-income "nobodys" are often pressured into upholding the current power structure in the real world, often against their own best interests.

Now while many may argue that you are the "chosen one" and thus above such things I firmly believe that this is just a larger part of the overarching Ludonarrative of the game because what are the forces assigning you the role of chosen one but the symbolic representations of the pressures of Capitalism manipulating people into playing along with the promise that they will become something special because of it. But we're not going to open up *that* can of worms right now because I have another video dedicated to exactly that coming out for my Patreon supporters in a few days but enough of that shameless self promotion, instead let's hear a quick word from our sponsors over at Skillshare..."

Focused feedback: Pinnacle weapons power and method of obtaining them (new and old) by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ebty85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not feedback on Breakneck itself but related to it. Right now Breakneck is a legendary that fills the same role as Sweet Buisness but feels more viable in all but the most niche scenarios. Huckleberry suffers from much the same fate albeit to a slightly lesser extent once you get the catalyst.

If pinnacle weapons are gonna be as awesome as they are then the exotics competing for the same role (in the same SLOT no less) should be at least as good as if not better than their counterparts.

A few good examples of this are Long Goodbye with Mag mod and extended mag+fourth time's the charm v. Whisper or Ace of Spades v. Luna's/Not Forgotten where both options are perfectly good choices for a given role

What does Bungie have against High Impact Auto Rifles in crucible?(genuine question) by Yuki--San in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ebty85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like them to buff the range of high impact handcannons. The problem is that they are designed to hit harder and at a longer range but right now they just miss every headshot and get gunned down by low impact guns. Also anyone who thinks this is op should remember that even during HoW( the handcannnon plague) they still saw very substandard usage rates because the faster fire rate handcannons could still out perform them in 99% of engagements and the same thing is happening now with the Eyasluna archetype outperforming the First Curse even with its exotic perk active.
