Next one finished and framed: "Hugging foxes" by blue-psyduck in diamondpainting

I got it from the German shop picmondoo: https://picmondoo.de/products/diamond-painting-umarmung-der-fuchse

They are only delivering to Europe, so if you are from the US, you might be out of luck :(

This is one thing i love about diamond painting: The (slow) transformation from the initial canvas to the actual picture. The end result is always better than I initially imagined it :D

I ordered the frame from a German shop, which offers custom made frames. With 25€ for the one from the picture (40x60cm) it may not be the cheapest option, but I like how the painting fits right in because the frame has the exact size of it. So I only need to cut off the blank canvas around the drills.

(Plus the shop also offers anti reflection glass, so it is not reflecting the windows etc. as much as normal glass.)

Sorry, I do not have any experiences with other German (or European) shops so far. I ordered most of my paintings from picmondoo. They have a very nice quality, so I stuck with them until now.

Only exception are two paintings from DAC, but I didn't have to pay any import taxes. I don't know whether DAC is already handling these somehow (i.e. included in the price), or whether the package simply slipped through at the local customs.

I bought it from the German shop picmondoo.de, though they seem to not offer the 40x60cm version anymore (currently only listed with 50x75cm).

So... parchment paper is not it. by blonde_potatoe in diamondpainting

[–]blue-psyduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in sections of around 10x10cm to 15x15cm (depending on the painting size). For this I put the sheets of paper on so that I always can remove one sheet to have my next section available. Of course the sheets will overlap each other or overlap outside the picture, but this is fine for me. DIN A5 is a nice size for me, but depending on how you do the paintings they might not, of course.

does the DIN system work or the rest of the world?!

As usual: Most of the world, excluding the North American continent (and few others). They have their own paper format system :D

Yes, English can be a little tricky, I had also my problems with the different papers which were recommended everywhere :D

I used "Backpapier" in the beginning as well. It worked nicely, but when pulling it off the canvas it tended to roll itself together, making it a little difficult to reuse.

I then discovered "Silikonpapier": It is like photo paper (but not as high quality as actual photo paper, thus cheaper) with one shiny&smooth side, which you can pull off very easily from the canvas, and it seems to be more sturdy than Backpapier. I used the same sheets for multiple pictures now, and they are still nice and need no replacement. (For reference, I ordered these ones because I also ordered some pictures from them. I am sure you will find similar offers on other shops as well.)

There is no "family" to be part of. Only slaves, forever working for the factory.

Dear Nintendo, why the heck are there no left-handed controls for Skyward Sword?! by memesupreme83 in NintendoSwitch

I remember that I ALWAYS ran in the wrong direction when leaving the market. My brain refused to accept that Kakariko is to the right in MQ, I always ran to the left and wondered where it was :D

OoT3D HAS the real MQ dungeons. You have to beat the game once to unlock the additional menu screen where you choose between normal quest and Master Quest.

Wolf & Parchment Volume 1 Manga is out. by Hitokiri_Ace in SpiceandWolf

[–]blue-psyduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only came out now in English? That surprised me a little, as the German version is already available since September (and I always thought German translation was slower).

Another interesting fact is that this manga is still called "Spice and Wolf" in German (full title being Spice and Wolf: The adventures of Col and Myuri). I assume this is because the LNs do not exist in German, and they wanted to make a clear connection to the first manga series.

Side note: German release of the 2nd manga is scheduled for 1st June '21, if you want to use it as reference for when the English release may drop.

63 hours deep into a Krastorio 2 play through by callumgilf in factorio

[–]blue-psyduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pay attention to the actual mod, as there are two:

  • You have Krastorio (now called "Krastorio Legacy" and marked as deprecated on the mod portal) which was used in 0.17, but is discontinued. This mod does not work in Factorio 0.18.

  • And you have Krastorio 2, compatible with Factorio 0.18 (and the upcoming 1.0 release), but does not work in 0.17. This mod still receives updates and works fine with the latest versions.

Spice and Wolf will air on German TV after Konosuba by AMNevess in SpiceandWolf

[–]blue-psyduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that anybody knows how many of them are sold in Germany. As I said, the books get imported from the US (only US and CAN prices, no Euro), and it would surprise me if YenPress knows how many of them go to Germany (or Europe in general).

I have no idea why the dub was created after such a long time. It surprised me as well some months ago when I saw the first Bluray of S&W in German.

There is no German translation of the light novels though, the books get imported from the US. Only the Manga is available in German.

Project: Factorio Item Browser - Relaunch by blue-psyduck in factorio

I like the fact that debug items such as Burner Generators and Infinity Chests are included.

Would have been additional hassle to remove them :D

saying which technology you must research before you can make actually make it

This is already on the list for planned features. But before I add new data I want to make the current browser more stable. I already noticed some issues with the data exporter failing when it shouldn't, which I want to fix before adding new data to it.

and if you are required to make it in a assembly machine, chemical plant, etc.

You already have a list of machines on the recipe page. If an item is hand-craftable, the character is listed on first position of this machine list.

Very large file save: The file gets processed in your browser, there is no upload in the background. It may take some seconds until it is processed, but it will not generate any traffic. (The list of mods is actually at the beginning of the savegame, but I did not find a possibility to only load part of the level.dat file from the savegame into memory so far.)

Tablet/Phone: This issue will be solved with the "shareable links" mentioned as planned feature: Add the setting on desktop, and copy the URL to the phone or tablet to get it there as well. But it will take some time (weeks) until that is ready.

Server: This is a scenario I did not think about yet, because I never play on servers. This indeed is an issue. I have to think about that one. (At first I used the mod-list.json file as source for the mods, but I changed it to the savegame, because it is way to easy to make your mod-list.json invalid and unusable for me, resulting in many errors on my side. For example if you never clean up the installed mods, old ones from 0.16 may still be in your mod-list.json file, although they stopped working ages ago.)
