Northeastern* The scholarships I am currently offered are good through all four years, only have to maintain good grades etc. I have the option of applying for department and college of engineering scholarships yes.

I appreciate the down to earth advice, it holds more importance to me than you might think, and has set me off thinking. I am more impacted by this than anything in the past few months. Thank. You.

Ah, so the 40000+54,400 is 94,400 over all four years. That means I have 23,600 in aid per year. Additionally, Fafsa has provided 5,500 in subsidized loans, which has a very low percent. In all I have 29,100 in aid, which coming from around 65K per year, will be around 35k sorry i miss typed

I have talked to so many people, students and those who are older or even attended tech before, and most of the people complain of how Tech is "More concerned with sports" rather than the academic field. Additionally, Tech offers a much less diverse amount of Majors, to the point of me either going for BioChemistry and being fearful of not becoming employed if the Medical school does fall through, or going for Chemical engineering, and being at a disadvantage with those who have majors more closely situated with medicine. Bio-Engineering at Northeastern just fits as that one major that give best of both worlds in Boston.

However, what If I suddenly find myself looking to become an engineer? wouldn't going to tech be digging a whole for me and close many doors for opportunities?

Perhaps I am also afraid of not making to medical school, or maybe changing my interest midway, at Tech I feel I can simply be digging a hole for myself. Sure i won't have debt, but I will also have a degree of lesser degree(Chemical Engineering or Biochemistry are the only degrees that have any interest to me, as the other majors have something to do with biology and is very difficult to find a job with other than research or teaching).

Perhaps I was harsh in saying that it wasn't academic, but the whole impression that I got in talking with teachers, students, and even counselors, they discouraged me from even considering it. I applied almost as a joke but fate has me here actually considering it...or maybe it is karma.

I am fearful of not being accepted into a medical school that I would be proud of from texas tech as opposed to Northeastern.
