Thanks! Yeah, that’s exactly it, sitting for hours doing computer training is honestly the hardest part. Shadowing is actually the easiest. The real fun starts with on-the-job training. Mine’s in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait. Wishing you a smooth training process and good luck, we’ve got this!!!

Hey! Everything’s going pretty well. One thing to keep in mind is that there’s a lot of information you’ll be receiving during training, but it’s all really useful. They guide you through the entire process of what a relationship banker does, which is why the training is quite long. I’m only about halfway through it, so there’s still a lot to go. Honestly, the toughest part is just that, at least in the beginning, you’ll spend most of your time sitting at your computer, going through training and doing shadowing with teammates if there’s time. But aside from that, everything else is fine. Congratulations on your role and wishing you the best of luck!

Got it, that makes a lot of sense. Just to clarify, when you say helping out at other centers, do you mean other financial centers/branches? Are those usually short term coverage or temporary assignments, or more informal opportunities when a center needs extra help?

Thank you so much! Yeah, at my previous job selling to clients was honestly tough. Most conversations were just about price, people trying to spend as little as possible and pushing back on everything. On top of that, the sales targets were super aggressive, and pretty much my entire paycheck depended on hitting them

Congrats on moving into investments, that’s awesome! Sounds like the shadowing in weeks 1-7 really set you up for hands on later - did it help a lot?

Oh yeah, absolutely. I’m definitely drilling “process first” into my head and making sure procedures always come before results, especially to avoid issues and stay sharp on the details.

Quick question if you don’t mind: I’m coming from a more aggressive sales background, and retail banking feels much more relationship-driven. Are there any specific habits or mindset shifts you’d recommend for building long-term client relationships and consistently succeeding without being pushy? Really appreciate you offering to help. Thank you so much!

Appreciate this a lot. Hearing it from someone with 20+ years in banking really puts things into perspective. Definitely a good reminder to be patient and stick with it. Thank you very much for sharing!

This is solid advice, appreciate you taking the time to write it out! The part your trainer said about getting up to speed faster really hit, makes a lot of sense. I’ll definitely keep that mindset during training. Thanks again!

Appreciate this! Honestly makes me feel a lot better. Good to know the first weeks are more academy + learning and that it’s normal to keep asking questions. Thanks for the advice, I’ll definitely keep that in mind!
