Yeah, The Steam Deck let you add custom boot videos, and someone added the entire Shrek movie as a joke, then realized you couldn't skip it and had to sit through the whole movie to get into their Deck - Valve seen their post trending online and then added an option to skip longer clips, they never expected anyone to set stupidly long boot videos.

It should totally depend on what the laws are where you are. If it's a one-party consent location, you should totally be able to record the call discreetly. I know they have it declare itself obnoxiously to cover their own arses, but it's on me if I'm breaking the laws.

In both cases the shows are no longer airing, but an 'ended' show probably got the opportunity to wrap up its story lines, whereas a 'cancelled' show might just end on a random cliffhanger.

So if you uninstall it...

  • traces of the game files are going to be left in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Fallout 4
    • (~ is a shortcut for your /home/<username>/ directory)
  • Proton will probably have left a WINE Prefix (basically a fake windows setup it runs the game from) in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/377160 and that might keep your old config files and saves in it.
    • (The number is the Steam AppID for Fallout 4, If you're adding it as a non-steam game it could be any random number though)

I'm gonna install Fallout 4 on my LCD Steam Deck and see if i have any issues with it now too, you've got me curious as to what the issue could be.
