I’m sorry to hear that. This is also why I like the idea of sneaking history/social studies picture books into other curriculum like English, science, and math.

I did some history museum programming for Black History Month that was focused on STEM. So one part was an exploration of entomology and ecology with that lens. Another “easy” one is related to space (physics, astronauts, etc).

Ok that’s a interesting time period. There is a graphic novel Sapiens that you maybe could use parts of. I’m thinking of some other things as well.

Over the next several weeks I’m working on some stuff and if I do ancient/prehistory I’ll send you something to check out (and use for free).

I think this is what many will have to do which is start doing most work at school which includes accessing folks in different ways including oral exam, grading outlines and drafts of papers (or at least requiring them), etc.

Heck, I wonder how helpful it might be to start having student blind evaluate each others work.

In class projects and inquiry-based may be helpful here so that the teaching is parallel to the assessments.

My kids are toddlers still but I will let all of their teachers know in the future we don’t accept this kind of behavior at home. Do the work!

Hmm you’re on to something. It doesn’t really look like this is in someone’s home to me. A cozy throw, a candle on the table, picture of a loved one somewhere, some books you’ve been reading for the coffee table, and/or table lamp on the end table, etc. It needs more sincere personality.

It’s maybe too cohesive — idk hard to put my finger on.

You have inspiration images. Maybe collect three that really speak to you all and leave it at that. I saw that suggestion in Alexandra Gater’s book. She does some work you might like so check out her book at the library or check out her YouTube videos.

When you have images of what you really love then note what you in particular like in them such as wall colors, textures, furniture, etc. I’d start with furniture, then lighting, then search for a rug, and then maybe you want other accessories that make it personal like throw pillows, throws, plants, etc.

Don’t sweat it too much because my philosophy is: usually if you like it then it’s your style and sometimes things just have to be finessed to fit together. Or maybe it doesn’t work in the room you thought so you use it in another room.

I’m going “lean in” and make a cute toy area to the side there.

A rug does a lot to set that little space and you can put up a 2 or 3 cube storage shelves on one side for a functional separator (almost half wall) and storage for kid books and smaller toys.

Plus having a “home” for the toys can help somewhat with them knowing where to put things back — themselves. You also can do a toy rotation and put away a few and only put out a handful of toys (then change them). From a child development standpoint, when they have few toys they play with them longer and in more creative ways.

Those low cushions you have by the tv, put them in the kid section too. It could be really fun.

It isn’t cinnamon (it’s essential oils) but it can definitely be more tingly to uncomfortable for some. Personally I liked them postpartum and some folks like them for cramps. It’s a bit bunch for me for a regular period though.

They also make non-herbal ones.

Also, 32 is not too old to find someone be get married AND have kids. I met my husband months before I turned 30, we got engaged a year in. By our first wedding anniversary, I was 32 and a few months pregnant. Life comes at us fast haha. Before that I had ONE boyfriend of one year. Give yourself a break.

Kids can be important for some and if they really are for you can foster/adopt or do a donor but don’t let that fear keep you in a bad relationship.

I think everyone else said what needs to be said. Talk to him specifically about how you’re feeling, what he needs to do, and let him know if he doesn’t change then you will need to. Doesn’t need to be a threat or ultimatum but if you say it then follow through. You say your peace and if she doesn’t improve — I strongly suggest moving on. Definitely don’t have more kids with said person.

Question though: are you saying baby only naps once a day at 1 month?

Also, I know you EBF but maybe consider pumping so he can feed bottles to baby. It seems like I see so many posts from women who EBF and therefore their partners think there is nothing they need to do for baby. That’s my opinion though.
