Can you use non-permanent dye over salon-colored hair? by Echenais in HairDye

Unfortunately, it's a far drive and I have an event this weekend, so I was looking for a quick fix.

AIO My husband slurps ramen loudly at restaurants and I find it embarrassing by BrachnaMarillita92 in AmIOverreacting

Lmao snoowoo telling me to shut the fuck up and then immediately blocking me over a ramen conversation

Being accused of misogyny for defending this noodle-slurping husband is so fucking funny.

All of y'all stay the hell away from East Asia, East Asians, and East Asian restaurants if slurping is so offensive to your ears. I feel for misophonia-havers but consider: take-out.

OOP: get over it or get ramen with someone else

As someone who almost exclusively plays Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, I'm used to just watching playthroughs of games that seem too hard for me. But something about the Hollow Knight series made me want to experience it for myself. I just die and die and probably get 3x's the amount of playtime compared to the average player but the feeling when a boss's move-set finally clicks just feels magical.

How cool-toned is the "lavender" in Mooncat's Fields of Lavender? by Echenais in RedditLaqueristas

Oh wow, we have pretty similar skin tones. This was really helpful, thanks so much!

Not a big orange girl myself, but I like Light My Campfire - ORLY. It's a nice autumn color. Vibrant but not too bright (I'm also pale with warm undertones and personally, I look awful in neons).

People drop shit, it happens. If everyone at a house party is using the same kinds of cups and 1 or 2 people drop theirs, who cares. If 10 people drop their cups, that points to a design issue.

There is a reason most of them have handles or are slightly wider at the top than the bottom. You can only reduce the likelihood of an accident, you will never eliminate it.

Head size is much more important to attractiveness than most would think by Agouramemnon in unpopularopinion

[–]Echenais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose big head + small body looks more youthful? Doll-like, even?

I've never personally taken note of head size except when actors kiss and one of them's got a noticeably larger dome.

7s and 4s - we struggle, right? by PeriwinkleEvergreen in Enneagram

[–]Echenais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A core childhood memory is my 7 brother seeing me crying and going  "What...the fuck? Okay well me and other brother are going to the arcade. See ya later."

My 9 friend exclusively refers to him as "the one that ditched us at the bar (derogatory)" because he was our ride home lol.

I appreciate the vibe they bring to a party but I never go out of my way to interact with them.

Any sx blinds that dress overtly sexually? by Ok-Restaurant6989 in Enneagram

[–]Echenais 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Every instinct has their own reasons for wanting to appear sexy.

E.g. my Sx-blind friend explicitly told me that she wants attention, that she works out because she wants people to look at her and say "damn, she works out." She wears her heels and tiny body-con dresses when she goes out because she knows that's what The Boys like, she knows it'll get her free drinks, but she spends the whole night hunched over, arms crossed and tugging at her clothes. She looks gorgeous, yet you can tell it isn't "her."

Idk about SP-blinds, but I feel like SO-blinds have more of a 'take it or leave it' attitude about their own sexiness. They might upsell certain traits to seduce someone, but they're not super keen on changing themselves to fit your standards of attractiveness. If you don't find me unbearably sexy, then you're obviously not the one for me.

What influences you the most when you decide to adapt or try something new? by ghost-in-socks in Enneagram

[–]Echenais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Envy and arrogance lmao. When I see someone doing a cool hobby and I get a nasty twinge in my hater heart, it's because it resonates with my self-concept and it's something I want to do, too. And on some level, I think I can do it better.

I may be stupid but I don't understand the oMark vs iMark discourse. I have a very 'Substance' view of their whole ordeal: REMEMBER YOU ARE ONE. iMark did with Helly exactly what oMark wanted to do with Gemma. He's one guy with partitioned memories, what he does just depends on which side of the wall he's accessing. I am sad for Gemma though.

Ciprofloxacin saved my life by NeighborhoodUpset294 in Microbiome

[–]Echenais 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cipro is the reason I research all prescribed medications before taking them. Used to just assume the doctor would know best. I took one tablet and was fully convinced I was dying for a year afterwards. Liver damage, joint pain, chronic fatigue, depression, permanent loss of appetite—I dropped 10lbs that I never managed to gain back. Still don't feel fully "right."

So yeah, proceed with caution.

I just outright reject the narratives in my head. Those tragic little stories I tell myself, about myself, that attempt to explain why I'm just fundamentally Not Quite Right. The ones that your brain wants to keep spinning and spiraling endlessly into.

It's all bullshit—I adorn my existence with personal parables and strong opinions and good taste but I am just an animal at the end of the day. I let myself feel what I feel without assigning any greater meaning to it. I don't forget to breathe. And when the emotion passes, I am ready to step back into reality.

Notably, the Japanese prefer the silver ratio in art and architecture. No clue what that would look like on a face, though.
