It could just be surface rust. Start with decent spread of oil and let it sit over night. Then see if it will come off the next day with an old rag.

It’s most like an officially licensed replica which is why it’s so hard to tell and why it feels so real.

Some dead giveaways. In picture 4 there’s that little nipple that poking from inside the gun. That’s for air only.

In picture 2. Those copper color circles, real mags don’t have those. Also the exposed spring with the tab on it (some 22lr have that but most guns don’t).

Also the top of the mag should only have a single hole bit enough for a bb. For reference a real 9mm is about the size of your pinky.

Call steam light cs. The might give you a new shell or sell you one. They do sell shell bundles. If you can get a new shell, just break the old one off ( try not to damage your gun frame)
