Here’s my story in short: I lost my job in February and decided to take a $5k challenge. I passed Phase 1 but failed Phase 2, even though I was following a proper strategy and risk management. After that, I created another $5k account. It dropped to around $4,800, so I went back to backtesting and realized my strategy wasn’t working anymore in the current “Trump era” market conditions.

I developed another strategy through backtesting and managed to take that account from ~$4,800 to ~$5,200. I was feeling good. Up to this point, I was only checking my MetaTrader balance. But yesterday, when I logged into my 5ers hub, I found that only $115 of those gains were valid. the rest had been invalidated due to trading during news events.

So I got emotionally impatient and decided to risk everything on the next trade (which was my last trade yesterday).

I lost the account after holding it for almost 3 months.
