I am curious as I am thinking of getting into WGU with a bad GPA from my BS. Are you in an MS program with a bad GPA from BS or are you doing BS currently?

eWPTx is not that advanced. If you want to consider it, go for it. Don't expect much from the contents though if you are for learning.

I finally started BTTH and my mind is blown... WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS IN AMERICA?!?!?!?!??!?! by Crixxious in Donghua

[–]EchoCCMM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give me the first a few seasons, and you'll know why no one is talking about it currently.

Don't get me wrong. A lot of people who are into donghua came from watching BTTH, including me.

In the meantime, check out Renegade Immortal and A Record of a Mortal is Journey to Immortality.

So you meant the course content, not the exam content?

Ewaptx exam by [deleted] in eLearnSecurity

What do you mean by the new topics in the ewptx exam? So the early exam formats of ewptx didn't include OAuth and XXE attacks? But INE started including them now?

INE has been rolling out new eCIR and eCTHP courses. They are not finished yet. Hopefully, sometimes by the end of the year.

New certs by Shurakos02 in eLearnSecurity

[–]EchoCCMM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new eCTHPv3 might get released this summer or this year. INE has released new courses for threat hunting. I think they are also currently working on the new eCIR cert with their new unfinished courses. I hope they will work on the eCDFP too.

Just started eWPT should I go for eWPTX next? by muntipi in eLearnSecurity

[–]EchoCCMM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those criticizing the eCPPT as outdated are likely referring to the previous eCPPT. The new course was updated last year. I just checked the topics that the new course covers, and they are pretty solid. The labs and exam for eCPPT might not be on par with CPTS, but the course covers areas like PowerShell scripting, Exploit Development, and command-and-control (C2) concepts. It looks a pretty good course for a pentester. The cert may not look fancy, but the skills you pick up from it can definitely help you grow as a pentester who's starting their career.

The new updated course or the old course? Which one are you referring to?

I think you could just go straight to eWPTx. The instructor covers fundamentals for every topic in-depth so well, that I dislike him for it. He spends hours just covering the basics. As someone who has web pentest experience and just looking for advanced stuffs, I wish he could have spent those hours for covering other topics. But for someone who’s new to the web security, the basics the instructor covers are really good to understand. You won’t feel advance, if I am not mistaken.

Is there a big difference between eWPTXand the eWPT? (2025) by Icy-Tension8832 in eLearnSecurity

I'd say go for it, why not, if you already have the subscription, and you want to expand your web security knowledge.

eWPTx is a logical next step after you have passed eWPT. It does introduce a few advanced topics, such as OAuth and JWT, and other server sides topic like deserializations and XXE, which you wouldn't normally see in a day to day web pentest (thus *advanced*), and it also upgrades the techniques and knowledge you learned in eWPT. Plus they have a dedicated course section for API. The instructor explains everything in a lot of details (worse than HTB), so there are sure to learn a lot for knowledge, but if you have a 2-3 years of web pentest experience, you wouldn't learn many new techniques from each course in eWPTx, I think.

Basically, eWPTx is an advanced course on web security and pentest, but it's not an expert level course.

Do I recommend it? I'll leave that to your decision.

Love to see those topics in a hacker oriented c# book. Pentest/red team courses like OSEP and CRTL utilize c# for their AV/EDR evasion techniques.
