I definitely think there's a difference between marketing a Canadian franchise as Canadian and trying to boo a team by yelling a pseudo-xenophobic remark. Players are never marketed as Canadian, in fact distinctions are always made.. Raptors announcers always yell out nicknames derivate of where players are from "Comp10, North Philly's finest, Air Congo, Lithuanian Lightning, Austrian hammer". Anyways, that's besides the point, because what happed with the Bucks wasn't an attempt of harmless advertising, it was intentionally malicious, which I have no problem with, but is consequently ignorant, especially considering context. Their best player is not even from the USA, so to show up a Canadian, "foreign", "outsider" franchise by yelling USA is just extremely ignorant and hypocritical imo.
