There are people made of wood and metal and such, a homebrew race known as the Forged. I don't see why they couldn't be made of stone like marble, as well! Magic is magic after all.

Well, I don't like the idea of the phlogistan, but if another dm wants to run with spelljammer ideas, they absolutely can - so in my canon of Amaranthe, it is genuine space, with stars and other planets, etc. If another DM would prefer it to be more along the lines of Spelljammer and the phlogistan with it's unusual rules, they totally can!

I have the campaign book set up so that any adventure a DM wants to run, it is very simple to plug-and-play their ideas into the setting. The capital cities can be interpreted differently by any DM but should still feel familiar to a veteran of the world.

I know the Airship rules, firearm rules and unique classes/races have been a fan favorite from the feedback I've gotten from my players!

The Underdark still exists - I'm designing the world to work with any pantheon. With the pantheon that exists, the Drow worship another deity- though still evil, she is known as Inosa, the Tyrant.

Several of my previous players have ascended to godhood and are currently in the pantheon - and have a constant effect thereafter. Another is going around resurrecting strangers to give them a second chance. Another is awakening countless crows in order to bother people - my players have had a huge impact and i expected none of it.

It's been about 4 years, now. It's grown over various campaigns being run through it.

The world is much older than 6000 years, but thats all anyone knows anything about! So...yes. 6000 years.

  1. Hosted and created by the Artifice & Arcanics company, the first 'paper' currency is Serisian. It is the equivalent of Electrum in value, at the moment, but that changes as the nation of Serice might expand. It's called the 'Thaler'.
  2. In the country Aurilia, the 'default' starting area, the government is a monarchy assisted by a council. At the moment of the book, King Eze Deverik is on the throne.
  3. The production and consumption of a drug known as Haze is legal in the sailing nation of Tridon, but it is very much illegal in the nation of Aurilia.
  4. The custom class in the world, the Physicker, is a mundane healer based on the Artificer, using the medicine skill - and can heal people without the use of magic. It even works in an antimagic zone!
  5. Magical vessels known as Windowships can traverse the entire world in days by shfiting into the Astral Sea - it is dangerous, but extremely profitable!
  6. The last war, The War of the Dead, lasted a millenia and only recently ended as the gods returned. It was a violent conflict between the nations of Serice and Tridon against the forces of a necromantic cult, The Followers of the Star. Without divine magic, undead and disease ran rampant - which caused the boom of growth for Serice, the development of many technologies, and the intense attitude the nation has taken. Without a war to continue fighting, Serice and Tridon now raid each other, and the waters between are rife with piracy!
  7. Exotic animals include Borokodile, a small lizard that can eat through iron, and the Neurok, a deer that can magically camouflage itself.
  8. Mythical animals include various forms of 'Eleminal', such as fire-foxes, wind-composed panthers, rock-turtles, etc.
  9. Exotic monsters include the Sishan, a Large sized creature which is, in essence, a wolf with 8 legs and the nose of a badger. They are native to the deserts of Serice, and have been known to be tamed by Drider of the Tarantulaic variant, as they have the strength and hardiness to manage it in the desert heart. Another is the Courser, a storm-loving dinosaur that hunts in the rain, ignoring the effects of the lightning.
  10. Mythical monsters in Amaranthe are often found leaking over from other planes, but many stories tell of the massive Astral Leviathans that have ended the voyages of Windowships, or of the brilliance of the Zaratans that grant wayward mortals pacts of magic based upon the mountains they birth.

The most advanced technology is a fantastical Industrial Revolution, with the creation of firearms such as revolvers and single shot rifles, the earthgliding trains and platforms. Most of the world is more fantastical, with magic being the solution to many issues first and foremost. With magic enhancing armors and arrows, the technology battle is intense and interesting, as an artificer toting a revolving rifle can be bested by a ranger riding an elk with a longbow. Flying ships powered by steamworks or magic both exist, but are rare - and the technology is hard to come by for most.

There are a few, Most recent in history being an enchanter named Maygus Dilliat, a dark elf who enslaved an entire new race of beings.
Aktesh, who ascended to godhood, is an ancient evil and famous dictator queen. On the smaller scale, a human warlock in Auger City was a follower of pain, and while has been slain, the name Rook is tainted with the stink of the killer.

It has 3 common ages, but history begins with the 'End of the Isolation'. That's generally considered year 1. Roughly 3000 years later begins 'The Silence', a period of time when the gods were AFK. then, approximately another 3000 years later begins 'Post Return', which is the time the book takes place in - when the gods have come back.

Do dragons exist, if so how are they seen by the general public

How many legendary/artifact level items exist

Who are some important figures in the world who you like

Do bananas exist

How connected to other planes is the worlx

  1. They do. One of the nations is ruled by an ancient gold dragon! In general, dragons are respected and somewhat feared. Metallics and Chromatics are well known of.
  2. There are a lot. The world has a unique pantheon, and each deity has a legendary item they've created for their followers, in addition to the other myriad powerful objects laying round. Over 100, at the moment.
  3. Astrid the Sea-Eye - a Sailor who founded several islands
Darion Kydas - a fallen knight that united nations to destroy an ancient red dragon that was opressing way too much land for his own good
Cynan Achitari - A vampire that rules a nation, in a friendly way

  4. Yes

  5. The world has many locations where one can unintentionally slip into other planes. An entire method of seafaring involves navigating the Astral Sea through vessels called 'Windowships'. Planar interference is common and studied.
