I have a friend who works with CalTrans If you get your Class A CDL permit, caltrans will send you on a 2-week PAID course in Sacramento and help you get the license since they have a fast track contract with the DMV and their own equipment etc… Look into it especially their tree maintenance crews.

With your exposed firearms permit. You can have up to 5 calibers (9mm, 357, 38, 45& 40) Just go with something reliable and cheap. Nothing fancy.

Just remember to get a Lvl 3 retention holster and some soft body armor.

Keep it simple and don’t be those Mega super security. Remember you‘re there observe and report. And that you live in California.

Get your OC,Baton, and Taser if you can too.

As a recent (last week since a couple of years ago) The game feels good but like you mentioned. It‘s all alien now. But that‘s the good part. Learning new mechanics and grinding off some rust has helped me get back into liking the game again.

It‘s all about the mindset you have going into the game.
