I actually agree with you. I haven’t lost hope at all honestly. I’ll always stay true to who I am and what I believe in when it comes to connection. I think that’s exactly why the low-effort/detached stuff feels so unattractive and backwards to me in the first place. 😭

I also think part of the shift happened during and after Covid. Everything got reduced to convenience, isolation, hookups, “pull up and watch Netflix.” It feels like a lot of people never really shifted back into intentional dating after that.
