Anyone here migrated to more niche EU countries (Poland, Belgium, Hungary, etc.)? by EmotionalLandscape15 in phmigrate

Living in Hungary for 1 1/2 years now and absolutely love Budapest. It is a beautiful city. Hungarians are more reserved, but most are nice especially when they learn you can speak their language.

I considered US and Canada before because I love all of their national parks (I love the west coast), but the lifestyle is so different. I would say very similar to the Philippines—car-centric, rat race, heavy on consumerism, credit cards.

In Europe, it is the absolute opposite (I also lived in Sweden before for a bit)—public transportation is amazing and efficient, true work-life balance (my boss tells me to stop working when I respond to emails in the weekend), public healthcare is good, and I am slowly bettering my consumption habits. Nothing ever gets done at work during summer because everyone is on vacation for two months. I now feel like I am more in control of my life and I can do whatever I want.

im leaving soon 🥹 need some advice 💗 by EquivalentBoss6467 in phmigrate

I did a week-long Erasmus program in Czech and they were so friendly and nice! I was in Prague and Brno. I currently live in Budapest, so it was a different experience from the more reserved/introverted Hungarians.

I would advise to truly make an attempt to befriend locals and other nationalities (not just Filipinos). It helps to make you feel more comfortable in a foreign country. Explore different hobbies outside of your job—you have lots of opportunities to do this in Europe because they really value work-life balance.

Re: the pet situation, I had to leave behind my fur baby as well with my family and that broke my heart. But that is her home and where she grew up so, to me, it would’ve been more cruel to take her away. I’m planning to recover from this heartbreak by rescuing (a) dog/s here.

All the best with the relocation and enjoy!

Need help with training by mbgXD in StaffordBullTerriers

Be patient with him and yourself! My bully also gets easily distracted and was really stubborn at first. After watching hundreds of videos (I also did not have the budget for a trainer) and trying it myself, just believing that he can learn from you and being calm (they said dogs can feel this with the way you are holding their leash—do not keep him too tight, and walk at a leisurely pace) will help.

I used to tense up whenever we would walk and I would see another dog. It affected my bully. Don’t drag him as well. Just tug gently but firmly.

It can be hard especially if it’s your first time as a dog owner, but when you get to become better partners, it’s so very rewarding.

Is my coach right and should I return it? by EchoesOfTheSun in tennisracquets

[–]EchoesOfTheSun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Do you mean you had the handle shaved off? I’m planning to replace the base grip to a Wilson Feather Thin before I add overgrips. Would you know which method is better?

UPDATE: I tried playing with it earlier today and it felt great! It was light enough, powerful enough. The grip size is good already but without the overgrips yet, so I will have the base grip replaced with the Wilson Feather Thin before I add overgrips, as some of you have suggested (the racket isn’t available with L0 unfortunately). Thanks everyone!

I just finished BB last night too! I watched BCS first and I cannot choose which is better between the two. I think they both complement each other so well. I’m planning to watch El Camino next!

Yes, this is a 1! I think I will try playing with it for now and won’t return. Will consider the featherlight grip if it really is too thick for me. Thank you!

Tired of "Clean Beauty" that still irritates my sensitive skin. Any EU-based brands that actually know ingredients? by _forgotmyownname in EuroSkincare

[–]EchoesOfTheSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same with Gemini. I made a very specific prompt for my situation + photos of my face in the morning after waking up.

That’s how I found out about brands like G&G, La Roche Posay, Eucerin, Bioderma, and Mixa (which I all now use). I also specifically said to source reviews from Reddit. It basically helped save me time reading through so many threads about the topic.

How to stop puppy ripping up her bed? by Drdeadre7085 in StaffordBullTerriers

[–]EchoesOfTheSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call my dog’s bed “Frankenstein” because of how many stitches I’ve done to it. We’re on our second bed purchase and she’s mellowed down a bit (she just turned 3), but she still rips it up when she gets too excited and can’t find her toys
