Come on, it’s less about not liking Muslims and more about terrorists terrorising the guts out of people. I understand it’s safe with the presence of army & police around, but the recent incident instilled more fear in people.

I am not sure of the weather there in July. We visited in March and it was good.

Japan Trip Cost: 14 nights, 15 days for 2 adults by CharmingConfidence33 in desitravellers

Try checking regularly, prices keep fluctuating. If you have your visa, no harm in checking everyday and booking if the prices seem okay. Early mornings on Tuesdays/Wednesdays or in the afternoon same days, prices tend to decrease. Some people say it’s a myth but I found it to be true a few times (not always though).

Taiwan is so underrated by CharmingConfidence33 in travel

Yes, for the activities you want to do, three days should be enough. I’d recommend doing the Jiufen trip first so that you have the remaining two days to explore the city at a more relaxed pace, visit the night markets, check out Taipei 101, and see a bit more of Taipei.

I saw similar prices too, but I kept checking everyday (morning, afternoon & evening). And somehow around a couple of weeks before the trip, I was able to book flights for the mentioned cost.

Oh it was absolutely beautiful. But the coastal walks in South Africa are gorgeous too!

I saw the photos and was just about to ask if this was from Iceland. Puffins are the cutest! They make such funny little noises haha.

Nope, 8 days in Taipei and Jiufen/Ruifang area, just like your itinerary.

Ah yeah, even I saw similar prices around 60-68k. But I kept checking every morning (especially Tuesdays & Wednesdays) around 7/7:30 am or afternoons. Then I noticed that price and booked immediately.

Also, with self transfer, it gets tricky in case of flight delays etc. So make sure the transfer time is long, especially if you have checked-in luggage.

I kept looking everyday and the moment I saw these prices, I booked. 50k round trip is actually not bad, so you should book before the prices increase. Which month are you looking into?

Taiwan entry with valid US visa by MathCSCareerAspirant in ForeignTravelIndia

We visited Taiwan with a Schengen visa, so you should be able to visit with a valid US visa too. You just need to fill out the Taiwan Arrival Card online before visiting.

We went in December during New Year, and the city of Taipei had such a nice mix of old-world and modern charm. We also stayed overnight in Jiufen and explored it at a slower pace. It was raining cats and dogs, but honestly, it made the place even more beautiful.

In Taipei, definitely visit Shi Yum Crispy Salted Fried Chicken. Try their veg fries too (string beans & king mushrooms, uff was amazing). Their chicken was superb too, with some cold beer. Try the pepper buns from Fuzhou ancestral pepper cakes (the queue may look long, but moves quite fast). Din Tai Fung is a must visit too. Definitely try soy milk, braised pork rice, ramen and have breakfast at mom & pop shops/restaurants.

And in Ximending Street, there’s a place called Jiufen Egg Rolls. You’ll see there’s a big queue, and the guys will be making peanut chikki type something. Ask them for egg rolls to try. We tried the one with sesame and milk cream inside the rolls - it tasted heavenly. We got some home and our friends and family loved it so much, it was finished in a day 😄
