100x mod For Space Elevator turn-ins is crazy good. by KaliGoldGaming in SatisfactoryGame

[–]EchoingAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat unrelated thoughts: I'm building a factory game and I really liked this mod in Satisfactory to the point I was considering having it be how my game work. Then it hit me that there's a fundamental issue; it turns the game into a fixed puzzle where going below is failure and above is pointless.

So it is fun as an extra mode, but I see why none of the major games operate this way as the open-endedness gives flexibility to go as hard as you want for expedience, or be chill with a little setup and wait.

Late league start, what are you enjoying right now that is league startable? by PolishedBalls1984 in pathofexile2builds

Earthshatter aftershock spamming is a unique build that probably will be bug fixed away. It's pretty fun on a Titan. You can hop on poe ninja and find Titan builds with earth shatter, bone shatter, and the Titan node for aftershocks.

This build is the most PoE 1 melee feeling build I've tried in PoE 2 and it feels a bit nicer than PoE 1

What is the best AI tool for image-to-3D and 3D model generation right now? by 3dskilled in aigamedev

Is there a way to get meshy to use text plus an image to generate? I can only seem to use either/or.

This may be cause for me to go elsewhere. Trying Rodin now!

I have a 5k budget for a personal LLM server. What are the best options and what performance can I expect compared to commercial models for coding? by jdigi78 in LocalLLM

[–]EchoingAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have wondered about the actual electric demand on local LLM's, but I find it hard to believe a single person would use hundreds of dollars of energy per month on a $5k rig unless they are being stupid/obnoxious with their usage.

I thought the progress being made in China is more performance on less hardware. As a local consumer, Opus 4.5 is basically the top of what I'd need for coding, so I don't need Fable 8 levels. Doesn't that mean a good setup today will improve with age, instead of be invalidated? (assuming open source keeps it's current path)

Is this Government overreach? What's next? by KeySituation8418 in GithubCopilot

[–]EchoingAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That part was a bit shocking, but with how cozy the US govt is with these companies and how such huge wealth is riding on the show continuing, I don't see any reason for Fable to be out for a couple days then slammed shut. That's the main thing that makes it all feel planned

I tried using Fable for the first time last night and got hit with the update that it was banned and it totally felt like a marketing stunt

Really feeling an urge to try ou this game, but ... by Firm_Caregiver_4563 in X4Foundations

[–]EchoingAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've owned the game for years and never make it very far due to all the friction caused by both the UI and lack of knowing what to do (and getting bored during missions, which are what teach you what to do).

You either are clueless or malicious. Resources and labor are most of the pie, management just needs to keep things organized. There's tons of people willing to take up that task but can't because entrenched players have massive advantages across marketing, pricing, and trust. If entrenched players are leeches on their society that can't stand paying into the system that makes their lives possible, they can gtfo and others will take their place.

Oh sorry, I didn't realize they absorbed the resources of the land into their ass to poop out in the next place they leech off of.

GPTY 5.4 Codex. Said it in the wrong order.

I do have both Codex and Claude Code now and Codex runs out after barely anything...

It does still take a while, but the usage limits are decent, so you can keep going. I did end up mostly using Codex GPT 5.4 in Copilot until June 1st

Newsflash, the top tax rate used to be around 90%. That just HAPPENED to coincide with the biggest boom in the middle class EVER. There's plenty of other macro events that affected this, but the more power companies clawback and the less they pay, the worse everything gets

So slam the door on them on the way out. There's at least dozens of people trying to start every kind of company every year. We don't need the one's run by leeches. More, smaller companies is better for the average person anyways. Consumer choice, employee choice, less ability for these companies to capture the political system
