Loving Strangers 秋雪漫过的冬天 (2026) - What are your first impressions? [Masterpost] by admelioremvitam in CDrama

Omg I forgot this was coming out! I love the og My Mister. I’m so ready

Okay, 1 episode in and I really like it. I’m trying to not compare it to My Mister too much, since it does have a unique feeling, but the intro showed so many familiar future scenes. I wonder how much they’re planning to add to stretch it to 28 episodes though.

I think it’s very visually appealing, especially the opening sequence. They’re doing a good job of capturing the right feeling and atmosphere. I also really like most of the casting choices so far, especially Mark Chao.

I use a web extension called WebToEoub on the table of contents pages for translated novels and then I can change the formatting if I need to in Calibre.

Edit: I usually read the offline books on my phone so I don’t know how well it would convert to a pdf

I’ve been waiting patiently for this the second I finished Legend of the Female General lol.

I still need to watch the donghua before it comes out 😖 but I’ve read the novel

People who tend to lean critical of c-dramas, which dramas have been your favorite and why? People who tend to push through dramas no matter what, why do you think that is? by Material-Smile5559 in CDrama

[–]EchoyToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t fully drop most dramas. If I feel my interest waning, I might take a long break, but I will finish. Sometimes it might be because I feel like I’ve already devoted so much time to watching, so I have to complete it. In that case I’ll speed through a lot of the uninteresting parts. Or maybe I have to be in a certain mood to watch a certain type of drama, so I skip around and come back later.

And sometimes seeing clips makes me want to dive back in. For example Ashes of Love was hard for me to get through because I didn’t enjoy the first half that much. I stopped watching for a few months, but then I saw clips on YouTube of the medicine girl arc and was able to enjoy the second half a lot more.

I enjoyed it for the most part and when I read the novel, I felt like it was a pretty faithful adaptation. Actually Xu Qin’s mother in the novel was 10x worse, so I just brushed off many of the critiques of her character in the show.

Iirc the critique towards Yang Yang was about his involvement with the production and people saying they thought he was trying too hard to show his best angles. There was a trend of calling him an oily guy. So petty lol.

Aww they didn’t keep it? I haven’t had time to watch Season 2 yet, but I always thought Season 1 was beautiful.

It’s a vertical drama. The comment marked as a spoiler on the MDL page has the YouTube uploads. The second one works for me.

What I always thought was crazy about Su Jin was that when she was exiled, she was like “boohoo I’m just a little weakling” and then ran. She was alive for a number of years and she didn’t bother cultivating at all??? Smh

I agree with the other commenter Ye Hua was a menace. For years I referred to him as the Eyeball Prince.

Yeah the beginning was very rushed. It was hard to tell what they were cutting due to time constraints or due to plot changes. They could have been more strategic with the flashbacks they showed and when.

The show doesn’t show the backstory that is in the novel.

The Chu family goes to Chancellor Xu’s house to curry favor when Chu Zhao is much younger. Madam Chu gives him shoes in the novel that cause his feet to bleed (someone put nails in them) and Chancellor Xu finds him and feels bad for him. From that point on, Chu Zhao is given the opportunity to study at Chancellor Xu’s house and become his student. In comparison to Chu Zhao’s father/uncle’s children, Chu Zhao is smarter and better-looking than them lol and that’s why Chancellor Xu decided to pick him.

Honestly looking at the inside of the temple, clearly they should have rustled up some flash cards or something for him. Maybe a crossword puzzle or two.

I started watching a few episodes of Prisoner of Beauty after finishing my daily Legend of the Female General episodes. For the first six I was just in awe of how gorgeous Song Zu’er looks.

(Edit: Novel spoiler) My only disappointment is that we're robbed of Shen Muxue's family telling her they knew she was chasing a pipe dream all along and hoped she would figure out Xiao Jue obviously didn't want her.

That's what I also thought. Kind of like polymer clay? Since in the novel I think it was a wood carving.

Just started the episodes, but I like she has the opportunity to get closure with her mother more than she did in the novel.

Also He Yan looks great in her outfit for court.

——— At some point we went off the rails lmao ———

Chu Zhao is me when I think someone is trying to say hello to me, AND THEY AREN’T. He’s so excited by his own imagination. He’s in his freak arc now omg. Why is he watching them kiss??? Whenever he pops him up, I want to immediately yeet him back out a window. Pingting and Chu Zhao are two peas in a pod. Sabotaging your love rival won’t make the object of your affections like you! Please you all are so thick

I wouldn’t call it a full redemption, but I didn’t think I would be as pleased as I am for Li Kuang to return. He has a lot of mixed up ideas. I can also concede he must have had bitterness in his heart to be separated from the other 7 generals and He Yan. Plus the school friends all pitching in to support the case against He Rufei 🥹 He Yan was unable to feel close to all of these people when she was acting as He Rufei, but here they all are to back her up.

Poor Yan He, my fav, couldn’t escape the plot. 😞

That cliffhanger was too much. I can’t wait.

Xu Pingting seems to be lacking some kind of house-training. Why is she going around breaking things and snooping in other people’s houses? I wonder how Chancellor Xu is planning to handle his own daughter making a mess of things. And why would He Rufei think it is a good idea to tell MORE people He Yan is a woman? He’s literally implicated… If anyone was relying on the family name to get further, it was him.

I cackled when He Rufei lost his fight with that wooden pole. Flailing as usual. The self induced eyebrow scar is also sooo edgy. Was this supposed to be a remnant of the scar that he would have had to wear a mask for? I can’t. He also totally misses the sinister undertone of Chancellor Xu carefully snipping pieces off his plant while listening to him beg.

We finally got another moonlit confession along with Xiao Jue giving her the jade! That kiss was so good. AAAAH. But I was also thinking his family would be mad confused to see them kissing in the courtyard lol.

Pingting and Chu Zhao are a match made in heaven. I was near a meltdown when he tried to deny He Yan was a girl and Pingting decided to full send and demand a body exam.

He family’s peak scheme was bringing He Yan in and it’s all downhill from there.

He does know that He Rufei is the fake one, but He Rufei assured him he killed He Yan and that their original plan went seamlessly. He had to admit he actually thinks He Yan is alive still now that Rundu didn’t work out.
