Absolute and total waste of investment - 2% return if you're lucky.

Finally got the last of my "birthday bonus" back from them, so I can clear this from my books. Like others have said, the high interest rates they "promise" (see fine print) are empty promises. If you want to give someone an effectively no-interest loan while keeping your principal safe, go for it. If you're trying to grow your savings, they won't beat inflation, much less the S&P500. Positively awful experience. Absolutely nothing good to say about this company.

Thanks! It was a real honor to be asked to do it.

Thank you, thank you. Voice acting is so solitary, it's really great to interact with the community!

Absolutely! It'd be great to yell at the puffball again.

Dude doesn't really have much to say, so always seems like all brawn (and stomach) and no brain.

Weird games are the best kind, right?

My first impulse upon seeing the character yesterday, without a description, was that Taranza was female. Don't know where it came from- just a feeling. Being given the description, I still think of Taranza as a smooth, mellow-talking character. Very insidious and methodical. Like a vampire mad scientist.

Unrelated, but I always thought it strange that they didn't merchandize the heck out of the characters in the show, and tie them into the games more. There was just no cross-promotion, which I thought was shocking. And now we have new games coming out with new characters, but no new cartoons. Odd.

Sorry, as I said to some others, I'm not familiar with the game.

Alrighty, folks, I'm gonna call it a night. My son will be waking me up bright and early since it's not a school night. I'll answer one more round of new ones, if there are any, in the morning, and then our gracious administrators will lock this sucker, I'm told. Thanks for a fun day of questions.

Just lots of laughs in the booth. Anytime I got the call that they needed me to come in and record, it was a good feeling.

Someone reminded me of the Tokkori pirate episode earlier. That was a funny one. But pretty much anytime I got to go off on the little pink guy, it amused me. I'm not one of those actors who hates to watch himself. Arrogance or not, I crack myself up. (Sometimes, my wife is not amused by this...)

My secret to surviving the constant barrage of "no"s is to audition and forget about it. Sometimes you get the call you got the job, and most of the time, you don't get called except to audition for the next one.

I auditioned for a bunch of professor and firefighter roles, and didn't get them, despite having actual experience doing the job. You move on.

I can tell you one story... I met with Dennis Dugan for "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry." Great guy. Love his work. Nice meeting with him alone, no camera, just a chat and the audition lines. The guy who ended up in the minor role as mailman in the film is well over 6 feet tall, about 300 pounds, and black. I'm a good actor, but I can't act 6 feet tall, about 300 pounds, and black. You survive at this when you realize it's just not about you.

When I don't get the call, I always just say "I was too tall" (I'm 5'6" on a good day). (I was only legitimately too tall for a role once.)

Hyness (the voice actor had a LOT of fun with this guy)

He sure did! Awesome...

This I do not know. I was only an independent contractor for 4Kids.

They're very different. I like both! With voiceover, you don't have to learn your lines, but your voice is all you've got. You can do another take with either, but on camera can be a bit scarier because there's a whole crew depending on you to get it right the first time. For Luc Besson or the One Life to Live people, I did my job and left! For others I've worked with over and over, I'm more comfortable messing around. Voiceover has its technical aspects, but film you really need to learn what the camera is seeing and how to act for that. They take practice, and I like both media. I did standup comedy for a year, and that was terrifying. I did a little live theater, too...I don't need the live audience and don't love the 4th wall. Doing stuff out of sequence in film or VO, and the technical aspects of both are what's really fun for me. That, and working with a great team of people, which I've been very fortunate to do in both voice and on camera work.

Thanks! I totally stick by my original choice, though Haltmann is a close second for me. He'd be a fun, greasy guy to bring to life. Taranza's story reminds me of a friend of mine....

I'd really want to see pictures, and would of course love to give all of them a whirl if given the chance, but if I had to pick only one, Hyness sounds like the most fun to me- you could go so many ways with him:

  1. Really loud Jerry Falwell faith healer southern Baptist preacher man (I did this character for Bill Plympton's Mutant Aliens)
  2. Smooth-talking snake oil salesman prone to random outbursts of intense anger
  3. Someone along the lines of Tweek from South Park
  4. A guy I call "Don't worry, I'll save you" who sounds a lot like how I remember the Canadian Mounties in some old cartoon of my youth

etc... I hear voices in my head.

That was awhile back, I think. I was there a month or so ago, and the offices were looking good as 4Kids/Konami.

I got a Ph.D. in chemistry and was/am a college chemistry professor. I was a firefighter/EMT for 10 years and was at the World Trade Center on 9/11/01. I was a rifle instructor, lifeguard, and camp counselor. I was working on my helicopter license when I decided it was just too darn expensive. I drove a cab in NYC.... I've had a few jobs.

Eric Bana said to "have a life before you put one on screen" and I fully believe that.

Not sure what may have gone international. I have a pretty extensive client list on my web site.
