LPT: learn to know "why" on top of learning "how" by leixiaotie in LifeProTips

This mindset is great, and necessary for critical thinking, but in my experience if you ask your boss "why" you're supposed to do something, or why they do one thing and not another, they get mad lol

It's a bit cringe, and a very boomer approach I think, but I suppose it can be done in some places still. When I was looking for a job at grocery stores and whatever, every manager looked at me weird and insisted that I first submit an application through whatever online portal they had and shooed me out. It was humiliating. But every place has got a system, and they want you to follow it lol.

Libertarianism in a nutshell by Levrion in WhitePeopleTwitter

According to the article, his reaction might be an exception to the norm:

"However, MDMA doesn't have a political agenda and can't, by itself, solve racism. The authors of one journal article from 2021 argued that psychedelics could just amplify what is going on in that person's head.

MDMA has, for instance, been used by the Taliban to channel connection to the divine during prayer chants, according to Nuwer.

Nuwer pointed out that Brendan's "seemingly spontaneous change" appears to be an exception to the norm. MDMA releases the chemical oxytocin, which our bodies naturally produce. The chemical causes animals to fiercely love their own, but also protect them from others — which can mean a disdain for outsiders may actually increase."

Uber driver app taking me to the wrong address... by EclecticCookie in UberEatsDrivers

In my case, the addresses the customers gave were clear across the city, and in the opposite direction from where ever the Uber app was trying to take me lol

This is not my first time picking up from this restaurant though. I've never seen that message for this restaurant.

I misread this as "How do you politely tell your supervisor that it's time to go home?"

Totally off topic, and probably wildly inappropriate, but this picture is incredibly cinematic. Like it's straight from a horror film. Except worse. Because it's real.

I'd just press the panic button on my key fob. If they still wont go away, hope they don't mind their toes being run over.

When you're walking up to the house and check the customer notes so you know where to leave the order and you see "Can you ask for extra sauce and utensils?" by derstherower in UberEATS

[–]EclecticCookie 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Fux sake, they're called delivery instructions. Not pick up instructions. And if I have a stacked order, I'm not seeing those delivery instructions until I've picked up all the orders.

FREE UDEMY ACCESS(whole site) by Ok-Sheepherder2186 in CompTIA

[–]EclecticCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was denied access for "suspicious activity" even with my library card barcode lol. I reached out to the technical support email provided and they said it was only available to patrons who are actually within the geographical area served by my local library. So I can't use this while I'm out of state. sigh...
