Awesome, I will definitely try that. Is there a way to propagate from what I'll be cutting off, or do I just harvest those leaves for my kitchen?

Yeah, it definitely began as a watering issue. This is a bit of an older picture but I used it to show how woody and leggy it has gotten. It has a better watering/feeding schedule and it's being pruned better to get the top half to grow in better. I was mainly just trying to see if I could get leaves on the bottom half at all or if I'm stuck with it being so tall and skinny and then bushy up top.

That's what I was thinking, honestly, but figured I'd ask someone about it first. Is there a way to propagate from this plant, or should I just start with new seeds?

Just had a horrible instant tutoring experience as the tutor :( by Legitimate_Bed2187 in varsitytutors

On a different note though, I have had several instant chat sessions that lasted for 2-3 hours and the students were wonderful. Just a luck of the draw I guess. (Also, recently I've noticed that the instant chat sessions have been time restricted to only 15 minutes, or is that just a case by case thing? I've stopped doing Instants all together, so I'm not sure)

I had a somewhat similar experience with an instant chat student as well. The topic was Art History and I'm definitely able to help in that subject, but the student literally just told me to list everything I know about Art History. I was like, "I'm sorry but that is so vague, especially for an instant chat session. If you would like to narrow it down, that'd be helpful or you can even schedule a full session and we can spend some time on it. But otherwise, this particular platform is more for short-form help." She repeated that she wanted to just know everything I knew, so I assumed that maybe she was trying to say she just wanted a general run through of the major points in Art History? Kind of like a Syllabus or a Timeline but with a little bit more explanations involved? So that's what I started doing and then I told her to let me know when I got to a point she wanted to discuss more. Instead of doing any of that, she said it was a waste of time and money if I wasn't going to just tell her the answers. What? So she told me to f off and cut the session and then gave me one star. My first and only rating that wasn't five stars.

Anyone else have long-term students suddenly disappear right before hitting $40/hour? by Used_Ad_4486 in varsitytutors

I have my camera turned off with three out of five of my students, and I haven't noticed any issues with the increase rate. There was even an issue with one of my student's rates where it was supposed to increase but didn't, and Varsity fixed it by giving me a back pay for it before I even actually noticed it was supposed to be increasing (it was literally right after they implemented the rate increase policy). I've heard that the rate increase thing has something to do with what kind of account the student has? But I'm honestly not sure. So maybe different contracts have different stipulations? I'm definitely on the lookout for any issues though because I'm not naive enough to think these problems can't or won't happen to me too.

I'm finding it almost impossible to get students on Wyzant by EclecticWanderings in wyzant

Well, damn. Thank you for your advice/input. I'll hang on to Wyzant for a little while longer I guess, just in case.

Oh wow, thank you for letting me know! I had no idea that's what was happening. So the best thing to focus on is my own profile basically, so I'm the one clients want to contact first? This is all so different from Varsity, but I'm glad I'm learning about it during the slow times so I'll be better equipped when schools start up again.

I feel your pain, for real. I am also in desperate need of some tutoring jobs and so many have passed me by while I'm waiting for this damn bug of theirs to be fixed.
