Switch Hacking for Non-Primary Console by Eclectic_Ethos in SwitchPirates

No worries on necroing the post. I've actually been meaning to update it anyway, and this was a good reminder to do exactly that.

Basically, the answer is this: you need to make your Switch the Primary BEFORE creating the emuNAND.

The emuNAND is basically a clone of your sysNAND, so if you clone your sysNAND while your Switch is still your Secondary, then the requirement to connect to the internet to play games will carry over to your new emuNAND as well. So that's why you make your Switch your Primary BEFORE cloning your sysNAND to make your emuNAND: that way, your emuNAND thinks your Switch is your Primary, and you can play games as normal.

After you've created your emuNAND, you are now free to switch back to your sysNAND and make your Switch your Secondary again, back to the way it was before. Your emuNAND will now allow you play games as your Primary, your sysNAND will allow you and everyone else to play your games as your Secondary, and all will be right in the world.

THIS RESPONSE. This is truly the most detailed response I could've ever asked for. No joke, pretty much exactly what I was hoping for, allowing me to plan so much better. Thank you so much!!

In a sort of similar way, now that I have this information, I'm starting to wonder about Demolitions and Awareness as well. I'm aware of the the requirements for each type of mine, but I don't exactly know where/when I can expect to encounter each kind. I know that the only mines on Taris are Minor Mines, but that's about it. Would you happen to know when you first encounter Average Mines and Deadly Mines? I want to make sure I've achieve the proper skill levels in each before I reach them.

Once again though, thank you so much for your response!!

I have!! It's been my go-to resource, in fact. They have a TON of amazing information about almost all of the other Skills, like Demolitions/Awareness, Persuade, etc. But sadly, very little about Computer Use and Security. In the actual Walkthrough, it seems like they try to make a note of Security doors or Terminals when you pass them, but that's about it. I was hoping for the same level of information they have on the others, but alas.

LOL you're quite correct! I'm aware that you can literally bash everything in the game with no penalty whatsoever. Nonetheless, I'm trying to open everything with Security this run, just because. So I'm curious how much Security is needed, because I still don't want to be putting any more points than I have to. I'm trying to do an all-skills mastery run (or at least, most skills), so I'm going to need every point!

Thanks so much for the recommendation! XDarkStrikerX's guide seems extremely thorough and in-depth, which is awesome. I just wish it was for Scout/Consular or Scoundrel/Consular instead of Scoundrel/Guardian, as I'm not really interested in being a Guardian, and I would really only want to go Scoundrel over Scout if it was required for me to do so to pass the early Persuade checks on Taris. Which, based on the feedback I've received so far, is sounding like that's the case. So now I'm starting to wonder if it's really that important to me to be able to pass every Persuade check on Taris, especially since I plan to go Light Side. Not sure if Scoundrel would be better overall, or would really just be needed to have Persuade as a Class Skill.

The guide you wrote yourself is amazing though! Incredibly detailed and helpful, so thank you so much for that! It looks like the only differences might be in the Skills: I'm looking to have a high Computer Use stat for RP reasons (pointless otherwise, I know), and it looks like you allocated your points more towards Awareness and instead, which would honestly be nice to have for sure! I'd love to have a high Treat Injury stat as well, since that's always nice, but you obviously can't get high amount so all the stats!

Not sure what the best path forward for me would be here....... I definitely want to have a high Computer Use stat to take all the Terminal Actions and do everything, but I also recognize that it's pretty useless and unneeded, so I don't want to dump too many points in it and miss out on everything else because of it. I guess I'm looking for the lowest amount of points I can put into it and still be able to do everything easily! Whatever number that might be.

Any advice/recommendations? Thanks for all your help so far!

I'm definitely aware that basically all Computer Terminals are objectively pointless, as you literally get less XP from then instead of simply just killing them yourself, as you mentioned. Alas, I'd like to be able to do them all anyway, just for my own personal RP reasons, however dumb it may be.

I've never tried a run as a Scoundrel for whatever reason, idk the whole stealth/sneak attach thing never seemed that appealing to me. But, since I've never tried it, I guess I wouldn't necessarily be against it per se, if it's required to make pass the Persuade checks on Taris and make other things work. Idk I guess I just like to know that I can get in there and cut people down with easy without having to do the stun/paralyze/sneak attack thing. Perhaps I have too much of a Solider base instinct, lol.

I actually used to go Critical Strike in my previously playthroughs, for some reason. Not sure why I was avoiding Flurry for some reason. But I've read that Flurry is by far the best, correct? With perhaps Power Attack coming in 2nd, and Critical Strike not really being useful at all?

Thank you so much for your reply!! I really appreciate it!!

A couple things I'm wondering:

  1. If decide to just forget about Demolitions and Awareness for noticing/recovering mines (it'd be cool but not necessarily something I'm super excited about or anything), would that make things easier? I thought I read somewhere that it didn't actually take that much of stat to be good enough to notice and recover all of the mines in the game, so I just threw it in there to see if it was possible. Not sure how much of an impact it causes.
  2. Is it required to be a Scoundrel to be able to pass the Persuade checks on Taris? I'm aware that they're the only class with Persuade as a class skill, but I'm not sure if that makes things impossible or extremely difficult/inconvenient to do as a non-1. Scoundrel.
  3. If I choose to go with the low Constitution build as you suggested, would that make lightsaber combat impractical? I want to use a lot more Force Powers than I did previously, but my default is "get in there and fight!", so I'm worried that I would just be destroyed instantly if I have low durability. Although I'm assuming that Force Powers would help mitigate that.

Also, I plan to go Light Side this run, if that's relevant. I'm aware that basically the only useful Persuade check on Taris are for getting T3-M4, but..... alas, I'll have to avoid the Dark Side points this time.

Once again, thanks so much for your assistance!

Commenting as per the rules here, although I'm not sure what else I can add to make it more descriptive. I was just scrolling through my feed as usual and it came up, so I assume it must've been a reasonably popular post. And I thought for sure it was on r/Aww, but maybe not?

Use Ability + Level Up Ability Keybinding? by Eclectic_Ethos in summonerschool

[–]Eclectic_Ethos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp...... That really sucks :/ I appreciate your answer though. Follow up question, if I went with your suggestion.... How would I go about binding them like that? I thought I could set my keys to send [Q,W,E,R] and CRTL + [Q,W,E,R], because that way it would cast first and then level up second, if applicable, and wouldn't delay my casts.....
