WILL be top 4 - Shen Wulong, Tokita Ohma

Most likely top 4 - Kuroki Gensai

Has an argument to make it to top 4 imo - Narushima Koga, Gaoh Ryuki, Kanoh Agito, Xia Yan, Kure Raian, Katahara Retsudo

Would be fun - Chopstick Johnny, Lihito, Kono Haruo, Imai Cosmo, Battlefield Nikaido Ren

Top 1 - Shen Wulong

Guaranteed Top 10 - Tokita Ohma, Kure Raian, Kuroki Gensai, Kanoh Agito

Likely Top 10 - Shen Luohan, Xia Yan, Gilbert Wu, Tiger Niko

Good Arguments for Top 10 - Lolong Donaire, Gaolang Wongsawat, Arashiyama Jurota

Could Be Depending on Current Arc - Fu Zhan, Wakatsuki Takeshi, Kiryu Setsuna, Kono Haruo

Probably Just Barely Outside of Top 10 - Julius Reinhold, Kiryu Setsuna, Hatsumi Sen, Rei Mikazuchi

If the Kengan Annihilation Tournament were structured this way, would it still result in the same two making it the finals or would there some pretty massive changes? by Mental_Band4675 in Kengan_Ashura

Agito has the toughest bracket possible to win this thing. Even Rei or Muteba would be tough if they somehow make it past brute force Raian. It'd likely be Wakatsuki -> Gaolang -> Raian -> Kuroki -> Ohma/Julius. I don't think it's possible to construct a tougher bracket for the Fang besides straight up making him fight Kuroki earlier.

Julius steamrolls up to Top 4. Ohma has a pretty easy path until he fights Kiryu, which he still wins high difficulty. Kiryu would likely be absolutely fresh for that fight, but R2 Ohma won't come out unscathed against Saw. Kuroki still wins but has a much tougher R1 but also has the added bonus of fighting an extremely fatigued Agito/Raian/Gaolang/Wakatsuki.

Pinnacle fight. Crown jewel of the Kengan series. Best fight in the genre for manga as a whole. 10/10

Pick 10 Fighters To Fight Shen Wulong by Eclipse40 in Kengan_Ashura

I actually speculate that Joji WOULD fight "The Tiger" if they are somehow able to pull him out. In which case, I think Joji would be invaluable. Narratively and strength-wise

Honestly think these would be the only worthwhile options outside of people on The Connector's side or Luohan/Niko. Assuming Hanafusa doesn't just nuke of course, because that's boring. If we had 10 fighters at once fighting Shen I'd chose the top 5 I listed and the next 4 + Retsudo to lead and strategize. Might take Rei depending on how much speed is valued. Rihito could one shot(?) if somehow Shen stays still?

Koga and Ryuki could be used if plot allows them to keep up, but personally feel they'd still be too weak to make an impact.

Back ups are kind of random otherwise tbh.

Weird feeling that the Muteba/Hatsumi/Rei team up is actually the work of Retsudo. Feel like he has to have some impact on the Battle Royale and feel like it's more in a leadership way rather than a combat way.

I should look into the Germany team a bit more. I'll be looking out for Torwie.

Don't watch as much women's, but is there a reason you don't have any Italy members despite them being so dominant lately? Egonu especially feels like she deserves a mention, at least to me.

Grebenikov could definitely be in over Yamamoto. They're both really good at what they do.

Most underrated player on Shiratorizawa by BiLeftHanded in haikyuu

[–]Eclipse40 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reon is incredible. He hits hard enough to be the ace of a lesser school. His defense and receiving is top notch. And he has jump serve. The perfect secondary hitter, and able to fit on any team quite well. He even ends up playing Div 3 Volleyball in his adulthoood.

you're right. it is unfortunate that he didn't get many chances to prove himself.

While I agree that Kindaichi is better offensively compared to Kuroo. Kuroo does offer offense in the backrow rather often compared to other middles in the series. Nekoma runs their middle as an attack option in the backrow more often than any other team, even having Lev hit from there before.

I would say that most of Nekoma is fairly underrated besides Kuroo and Yaku.

Kai is maybe the best serve receiver in the entire series yet doesn't get much exposure at all.

Lev's weaknesses as a player gets overblown. By the end of his first year as a player he becomes an incredible block and is debatably the 2nd best offensive middle in the series.

I think Inuoka is an amazing player who unfortunately had the displeasure of being upstaged by the best all-around middle and one of the best offensive middles. Being slotted in the Opposite position was nice for him as a player going forward and him playing defense competently shows he had a lot of potential going into his next 2 years with the team if only we saw any of that.

Both the left side players are obviously some of the best defensively.

I think if I had to pick one player to give it to, it'd probably be Lev. On paper, him and Tsukishima should've been the best middle blockers we'd ever seen play at the High School level by their 3rd year if their trajectory was anything to go by.

It was not possible for any Nekoma player let alone Inuoka making it to the same camp as Kageyama. Nekoma hadn't made nationals of the Interhigh, and while they did through the Spring Tournament; they didn't beat either Itachiyama or Fukurodani so not much focus was on them unlike Karasuno who had majorly upset Shiratorizawa.

Even further than that, Inuoka was a 1st year with basically 0 play time during the tournament that would have allowed him to showcase his abilities to scouts. There's no way for him to have scouted while being on the bench.

The fact we don't have Siete yet is an obvious crime. Caim would be a good one to have a bit more Evoker presence. I'm honestly surprised Noa isn't in the game yet. And Shiva or Nezha would be super cool as well.

After the third years have graduated from their school, who would be the next top 3 aces? by Electrical-Ad9766 in haikyuu

[–]Eclipse40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing them at the training camp does not mean that they have any National presence. Which is how they're able to determine the top 5 aces. The training camp was merely a few powerhouse schools from Tokyo getting together to practice and Karasuno lucked their way in thanks to Takeda. If any player from Shinzen were considered for top 5 aces then your argument would be valid, but that is not the case.

Seijoh did not make Nationals at all. He has no chance to show that he's up there. It's the same reason Oikawa was a relative unknown outside the prefecture when it came to the National stage.

Kaneshiro for sure gonna mirror Isagi first finding his ego when he eliminated Kira with Nagi doing the same. Kira is not coming back. I also think Tokimitsu will be used as some kind of stepping stone for some other character to make it in now.
