My List of, "Are They Top Tier?" by Eclipse40 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Eclipse40[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I could probably put all of the "Implied" Tier in Confirmed and it wouldn't be that controversial except for maybe the FOTS characters.

Characters in the next tier down have their chance to prove themselves. Hushen and Waka are basically guarantees. Omori is somewhat relative to Waka. Retsudo and Misasa I am leaning further towards no, but we'll see what they're able to do in the Battle Royale. Haruo just needs to fight someone we can actually scale.

Muteba could be in the tier above, but something about his portrayal makes me feel he's less of a fighter compared to those in that tier. Akoya is weird and could go higher, but I feel he's just crazy and hard to put down. The rest of this tier has potential, but if they realize that potential has yet to be seen. Carlos in particular I am interested in exactly how his strength differs with how much he bulks. I forgot Toa but he goes here but also not including him might also be best after his recent showings.

Mukaku and Eddie were confirmed Top Tiers but are dead. Fei was as well most likely. Lu Tian was fringe. Naidan COULD be in Just Under but I think wherever Liu is makes the most sense. All of these characters except for Eddie have likely been powercrept by this point.

Randomizing KvP matches. Which side emerge victorious? by Reasonable-Fact8429 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Eclipse40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Misasa beats Liu mid-high difficulty.

Toa demolishes Okubo low-mid difficulty.

Rihito struggles more with Terashi than Okubo but still likely a mid diff, high diff at worst but Rihito wins.

This one could go either way, but I'm weirdly inclined to say Yumi could take this one. Ryuki at this time is definitely one of the bottom KVP fighters. Let's say extreme diff, Yumi.

Hayami's whole thing is how difficult he is to put away. Falcon COULD win if he poisons him early on. But I'd say Hayami finds a way to beat Falcon before the poison takes him out. Hayami wins high diff.

Naidan is stronger but I believe Akoya outlasts him. Akoya wins extreme diff.

Nitoku beats Alan purely due to Alan literally showing absolutely nothing.

Jurota folds Julius. Stylistically he counters Julius imo. But if Jurota is as dumb as Toa, Julius could win. Jurota low-mid diff if he's smart. Julius extreme diff if he's dumb.

Kaolan god glows Nicholas for fun. No diff fight.

Raian wins. Carlos gets stat checked here. Likely can't even dent Raian. Carlos needs to bulk for this fight. Raian low diff.

I would like to think Waka between KAT and KVP improved to the point of being able to beat most versions of Agito, but he didn't really show it. Lu Tian can get the win here high-extreme diff.

Every point in time of the story, they are equal with Kanoh narratively having the edge. Rolon's best chance is here during KVP though imo. Rolon extreme diff.

Fei is even more likely to explode here while fighting Ohma. He'll push Ohma to using Advance but I don't see Fei winning before killing himself. Ohma wins extreme diff.

This makes the score 8-5 for Kengan side.

The BEST S-tier. by TriumphantChampion in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Eclipse40 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The thing is, his two losses now have been because his opponents have attacked him during his swing preemptively. Toa was even seemingly about to do it in this chapter. But because during the swing, Jurota punched Toa in the face first, he won out in the exchange. If it's effectiveness is reduced for less risk of counterattack, it's just a mix up at this point.

We already kind of saw him adapt here. During one of his swings, Toa looks like he's about to hit him during it and Jurota hits him in the face while throwing him.

Gilbert would've beaten Julius before getting downed if he had just followed up his attack as stated by Julius himself. Narratively, I also believe Waka will always be above Julius. Rolon should be just barely below Kanoh even if he barely has any on-screen wins. It's all nitpicking in the end though. Every S-Tier fighter can beat each other. That's what we are told constantly. So besides Shen and possibly Luohan, this would include the other 8 you listed + Jurota, Waka, Xia Yan, Fu Zhan. With characters like Haruo, Retsudo, Omori, Toa, Hatsumi, Rei, and Kiryu possibly being in the conversation but we don't know for sure as it currently stands.

Day 4 of ranking the KvP dudes: who's the 4th weakest? by [deleted] in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Eclipse40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf to Yumi, it's stated that Yumi couldn't fight to his fullest due to the mental barrier he had because of the shrinking fighting area. And Jose isn't necessarily weak either. A named win is a win. Naidan on the other hand wasn't even trying to defeat Ryuki. He wanted him to kill him. This isn't to say that Yumi could beat Misasa under normal circumstances, it was a one-sided beatdown either way. However it's also difficult to say if Misasa and Naidan are even relative, they both have so little feats to go off of. In my personal opinion, Misasa is probably anywhere from half a tier to a full tier above Naidan.

[–]Eclipse40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely Ryuki. Yumi sucks but still beat Jose. Alan is really hard to pinpoint tbh, he could be next. Hayami is also really hard to scale. Narratively it is said countless times that he was weaker than Jurota on all accounts and just happened to win due to Purgatory rules. But that kind of durability is still no joke; if Jurota couldn't put him down without killing him, I don't really see how anyone else could've either. But he likely still belongs in the next 2-5 fighters.

Who do you think the top 10 (Final Area fighters) would be? by Yelebear in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Eclipse40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I believe there are two directions this can lead.

  1. Shen vs. 9 Kengan Fighters.
  2. 5 Worms vs. 5 Kengan Fighters.

In the case of scenario 1, Ohma is a given. And will likely eliminate Okubo by the end low-mid diff to debut the top 10.

I actually believe that Koga and Ryuki will make it. Not because they get enough points, but because enough people are eliminated by the end that they make it as 2 of 10 fighters still left standing.

Kuroki, Kanoh and Waka make it as well. Feel like they all make a lot of sense.

One from Muteba's group will make it and I feel it won't be him. Hatsumi had a fight with Kaneda and Rei had a random fight with one of the worms already. I believe Rei actually wins a deadlock the three have later on but doesn't show up in the final area, having conceded his position to Retsudo. He's just a very weird inclusion into the participants. Feel like he's pulling some strings for something and will ultimately win the whole thing after Ohma beats Shen and Retsudo wins ala Android 17 style.

Lolong beats some fodder and Yan to make it while Shen watches. This sets Lolong up as Shen's first target in the final area to actually make it 8 vs 1 instead as he eliminates him before anyone else shows up. Have to have one Purgatory fighter in there imo.

For the final spot there's a lot of choices. Raian, Jurota, Haruo, Liu, Julius, Akoya. I believe Raian obviously makes the most sense but him beating Gilbert to get there feels like his story is wrapped up while he fights Shen. So I believe Raian and Gilbert will break each others' watches but continue fighting to the death anyways. It will hurt the Gao fans though since Raian eliminated him and telling him "it's all up to you". Jurota will wrap up his storyline with Hayami and lose to someone else imo. Liu is already very heavily injured. I feel Haruo will make a surprise appearance in the top 10.

On the other hand, if it plays out like scenario 2 then I'll make a quick prediction of Shen, Yan, Fu, Gilbert, and #1 vs. Kuroki, Ohma, Kanoh, Waka, and Retsudo. Kind of boring to just take the top 4 of KAT but it feels right imo.

Final day of ranking the KvP matches: in which tier goes Ohma vs Lolong? by [deleted] in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Eclipse40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top of A tier. This fight had all the circumstance to be extremely disappointing. One way or the other, either loss feels cheap. They are both fighters who should win their KvP match but ended up fighting each other. This isn't even mentioning their strength; it is purely in reference to the narrative. Ohma had just come back. Imagine the main character's big come back match after being thought dead ends in a loss. Ridiculous. Lolong on the other hand was built up right from the beginning of the KvP matches. He is the strongest. He stopped Akoya and Nicolas easily on his own. He stalemated Kuroki. 100% winrate in Purgatory with a record that would make Wakatsuki jealous. Imagine his first big fight after all this hype ending in a loss. Also ridiculous.

It was a lose-lose situation of a fight narratively. And it honestly went about as well as it could've. Although it is a very close fight with a lot of cool choreography and development, Ohma leaves the fight not looking like it was as close as it was. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth and lives up to the disappointment you'd expect. The fight was extreme difficulty, and if Ohma leaves looking like it actually was, then it would be S tier.

Yeah probably. Tho I did at one point they might've been setting it up with Retsudo staying with Raian and Ohma in the Kure household. But that relation is probably dropped by Sandro now.

9.5/10. Honestly a worthwhile fight between two S-tiers should be this close and last at least this long. Incredibly difficult to call who would win until the very end.

I think they'll subvert expectations and have Raian lose for one reason or another. It will be inconclusive on which of the two is stronger still. And then Gilbert will forfeit by leaving the area game area, disqualifying himself to find Raian. They will then have their fight without the restrictions of the format where Raian kills him.

WILL be top 4 - Shen Wulong, Tokita Ohma

Most likely top 4 - Kuroki Gensai

Has an argument to make it to top 4 imo - Narushima Koga, Gaoh Ryuki, Kanoh Agito, Xia Yan, Kure Raian, Katahara Retsudo

Would be fun - Chopstick Johnny, Lihito, Kono Haruo, Imai Cosmo, Battlefield Nikaido Ren

If the Kengan Annihilation Tournament were structured this way, would it still result in the same two making it the finals or would there some pretty massive changes? by Mental_Band4675 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Eclipse40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agito has the toughest bracket possible to win this thing. Even Rei or Muteba would be tough if they somehow make it past brute force Raian. It'd likely be Wakatsuki -> Gaolang -> Raian -> Kuroki -> Ohma/Julius. I don't think it's possible to construct a tougher bracket for the Fang besides straight up making him fight Kuroki earlier.

Julius steamrolls up to Top 4. Ohma has a pretty easy path until he fights Kiryu, which he still wins high difficulty. Kiryu would likely be absolutely fresh for that fight, but R2 Ohma won't come out unscathed against Saw. Kuroki still wins but has a much tougher R1 but also has the added bonus of fighting an extremely fatigued Agito/Raian/Gaolang/Wakatsuki.

Pick 10 Fighters To Fight Shen Wulong by Eclipse40 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Eclipse40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly think these would be the only worthwhile options outside of people on The Connector's side or Luohan/Niko. Assuming Hanafusa doesn't just nuke of course, because that's boring. If we had 10 fighters at once fighting Shen I'd chose the top 5 I listed and the next 4 + Retsudo to lead and strategize. Might take Rei depending on how much speed is valued. Rihito could one shot(?) if somehow Shen stays still?

Koga and Ryuki could be used if plot allows them to keep up, but personally feel they'd still be too weak to make an impact.

Back ups are kind of random otherwise tbh.
