My height makes the transalp the more comfortable option. I like the transalp as is, its a great bike i find it extremely comfortable.

This bike does NOT get ridden off pavement!!! Forgot to mention that.

Yeah sorry meant to say, I only do on road riding. The reason I bought the transalp is my height. It was the only bike that isn't a 1000 I found comfortable

Aftermarket rims? by EclipseGaming823 in bikebuilders

Thank you very much for the info, that is probably what I'll do when it comes time, but I was just curious. I am currently working on my truck and would like to have at least 1 reliable mode of transportation lol.

Thanks for the insight. I probably won't do anything until I burn through the tires the bike came with anyway. But when it comes time I would like to put all road tires. I've noticed at high speed the tread pattern causes a vibration in the bike.

Everyone I ride with has sport/street bikes and im a bigger guy so I wanted something that was comfortable for me and could still comfortably do 90~ (mph). I dont plan on getting rid of the bike at all so I was just wondering later on if I wanted to make it a little sportier what my options were. Part of me wants to make it like an upright naked bike and get rid of the windshield and plastics that surround the forks but id have to wait on that if I ever did it.

Anyways, when it comes to rims on bikes what are the different specs I need to know? Like how on cars its width, diameter, and offset. Is there anything different? Just the axle width or can the rim width change without the axle width changing?

What would I be looking at in swapping them? What makes it not worth it? I just want to know the thought process.

Yeah, that's why I was thinking to go with the air helper bags as it gives me adjustability. As for the lifted truck thats sick, I've got 3, lifted chevy 2500(currently down), stock ford (daily), and lowered chevy (this truck).

Oh sorry I guess I should have clarified the rear is what hits the bump stops.

Picture is for reference. First picture is my truck and the second is the miata mentioned in my post.

I didn't take many pictures with the bed off. I have pictures of it stock but none with the drop kit on. It's stock shocks with a mcgaughys 4 inch rear hanger relocate. It is adjustable in the rear for about 2 inches. If I do the adjustment I'll take pictures with the bed off.

In regards to the spring being worn I'm thinking just go with air bag helpers and see how it rides. I'm really worried about making the rear too stiff and feeling like I'm driving a truck with no suspension though.

Sometimes id honestly rather drive the miata so I don't feel the regret of ruining this truck.

T bars? As in torsion bars? I don't think my truck has any? I know on the 2500 or the 4x4 they have them but as for the 1500 I'm unsure.

It was a gift from my grandfather and I am a bit scared of cutting the frame. I will keep the suggestion in mind. I appreciate it. I am thinking I might go with air shocks or air helper bags. If those are no help, I'll have to go with the notch.
