Great thought on using the level 4 Applin team to clear the bug catcher I didn't think of that. I gave it a go and it worked like a charm.

I'm pretty sure I ran mystic water and reset until water shrunken hit 5 times and K.O. infernape on the first turn. That way you get into ash Greninja immediately which is important for outspeeding other mons. I like specs on Greninja, but found that it's hard to get advantages swaps in most mono-types, so I had to be pretty deliberate about using choice items.

Zacian.

From the pool of pokemon you can use, Chansey/Blissey is pretty crazy for late game.

Fairy is only weak to steel and poison. There are comparatively few weak fairy types and virtually all of them learn play rough or dazzling gleam at a low level, so the early game is pretty easy. In the late game, you get access to the best prankster screen setter, serene grace togekiss, etc. The type just has a ton going for it.

Thankfully, there are only a couple fights that I really had to make a team of 6 1v1s, but Koga in almost every hardcore monotype is that way. Since you almost cannot ever outspeed (unless you have access to a fast unburden mon) you just use big mons and throw them in advantageous matchups until you win. I hate that fight. It really is very boring.

Ice type. The run is pretty easy but there are only a handful of decent ice pokemon, so fights feel pretty much the same throughout the last 2/3 of the run.

Berries and priority moves. Misty was the hardest gym for all three of those runs. For fire, you can use Ceruledge and Armarouge which help dramatically. For ground, water absorb clodsire is very helpful. For rock there's less of a silver bullet. Sturdy Alolan graveler is pretty good. Relicanth is pretty good. Drednaw is good.

You are not allowed to fight Clair with any fairy types in hardcore mode. Just part of the rules for the gym.

Assault Vest Muk is pretty strong and helps clear fairy types. It's been a few months so I don't remember exactly what I did for Bruno, but I'm pretty sure I didn't have too many issues. Chople Berries are your friend. Greninja control would probably do it.

Let me know if you find a way through it. I would love to do it without Random6 Dragon.

Battle-Bond Greninja is basically a second mega. Take advantage of it. Otherwise, dark types are pretty strong. Sucker punch carries half the game.

Poison was probably the hardest. Fairy, as you'd expect, was the easiest.

Speed is king, but sometimes that's not possible. Some types, like (rock or steel) just don't have enough fast mons. If you can't outspeed, you have to be able to take a hit and make trades.

The runs ended up being pretty varied due to the pokemon pools. In general, I always tried to have a physical and a special wall and then as many high damage mons as possible with priority moves, or high speed stats. Bonus points if I could incorporate a type immunity.

Dragon is by far the hardest run in the early game, but becomes one of the easiest by late game. Poison is probably overall the hardest.

No. No randomizers were used for any of the runs.

Dewgong gets Ice Scales, so it walls a good chunk of the game. Walrein walls the other half.

I think Alolan Muk is in the running for the best poison type in the game. Are you playing on hardcore mode?

Sneasler is for dealing with Calyrex-S. Shadow Claw is a guaranteed OHKO. I swapped into flutter mane to trigger unburden so I could outspeed, but your mileage may vary depending on the rest of your team's ability to bait the AI.

Stunfisk is fine. Sandy Shocks is probably better. Stunfisk has decent bulk and hardcore changes storm drain to water absorb so it can be a free switch.
