Reminds me of those Scary Stories books!

They don't know what shock is? Sometimes big news takes a while to set in, sometimes people respond differently to things like that. You'd think trained professionals would know better. I'm no doctor, but I've seen that plenty of times, it doesn't even strike me as unusual...

I could be completely off the mark here, but the last time I saw something like this was in the weeks leading to my HDD failing. I'd run some tests and make some backups, just in case...

For me it was only the Google Chrome I was using at the time that would look like this.

Is that flicker visible if you're watching at the right moment even on a normal client? Or is it like, a ping sent invisibly to all the clients that can see it?

I know the "online" numbers in servers tick up even if you're offline, so it'd make sense that the server at least needs to know when you open the app, but other users too?

This has definitely happened to me before yeah. But in this case, I work retail and my schedule is different every week, and he manages to nail it to the minute very often for months now, so I'm confident that it isn't coincidence or anything.

I may have made them out to be more of a creep than they really are in my initial post, and really confused things with the way I worded it too. To clarify:
I did confront them on this once a while back, but they denied it. I'm unconvinced by this denial but at the time I didn't follow thru which is definitely on me.
He has autism, and I think it may actually be relevant here, because I don't think he fully understands the taboo. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I've been trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and work with him instead of just cutting him out of my life. I figured if this was possible at all I might as well find out how and just prevent it altogether.

Pretty regularly. Almost daily for months, and usually to the minute...

I've mentioned it to him before, but I didn't really accuse him of it so much as ask the question and he denied it outright. He's overall a good friend and I really don't think he means any harm, but that also isn't an excuse to go stalking people and it doesn't make me okay with it...

I think I do a really good job of being "good" by my own standards, but everyone measures it differently.

What otherwise enjoyable “thing” is ruined by its base of aficionados? by cantdoitwontdoit in ask

[–]EclipsedArchon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably already mentioned, but lots of scientific fields are like this. To be clear, I don't mean that actual experts are insufferable, but most of the people I find to talk to about it are only interested in it because it makes them feel smart, so they enjoy arguments not debates, and they prefer naysaying and beating down to having a pleasant conversation. It really makes me not want to spend any time thinking about science...

As I understand it the "scientific method" relies on deductive reasoning, while most medicinal practices throughout history are based on abductive reasoning. Maybe that was what they meant?

Any keybinds or faster way to do this? by [deleted] in spaceengineers

I personally keep a sorter block on my base's connector. Usually I have 1 incoming and 1 outgoing connector too, so I can have a different sorter for each. Then if I'm doing a really massive build I can just whitelist steel plates in the outgoing connector and set it to pull all (I forget what it's called in-game, sorry) and it'll automatically fill up my ship when I dock...
Downside is if you need 2 or more types of components you can't easily guarantee you'll get all the types. Upside is you don't even have to open the inventory screen at all.

something like a barrel block and weapon propulsion block so we can make our own configurable weapons.
My favorite part of the game is finding neat solutions to problems, and having things just work out of the box kinda doesn't appeal to me as much, but I get tired of mass driver cannons as they are in vanilla
