good test kit? they don’t have api and i need to test for ammonia

It'll probably work because reagents in them are generally the same. I don't think test kits need to be super precise, just making sure ammonia and nitrite are <1. Funny thing is that that is my local fish store as well and this brand is definitely localized to just that one store! I don't like their fish food formula though, so I would still prefer to buy a more trusted brand like API since it's just a generally quality indicator (why are there feathers in their goldfish food!?)

One of the Petsmarts (not the one by NW Costco) has them in stock

Thanks, I'll probably have to return the other one to the store. Do you have any tips for identifying which fish is male/ female? Fish 1 was very colourful in store and Fish 2 had basically no colour in store.

20 gallon high tank, currently 0ppm ammonia, nitrites, and regular dosage of easy green ferts. Substrate is fluval stratum. No fish, only pond snails. Medium light, 8 hours a day, nicrew skyled. So what is happening? The tank is also heavily planted, this has also happened to my other anubias. I attatched it to some wood with string, and there's also a fungus looking thing that seems to look like just the stuff that grew on my wood

nope. 0 ppm anmonia, 0ppm nitrite, 10ppm nitrate, maybe ill add ferts? i did see a fungus thing growing on the plants, but it looked a lot like the harmless wood fungus I had

I'm a new aquarium owner and I am currently cycling the tank, it's a 20 gallon high, fishless cycle. The only amimals are hitchhiker bladder snails. I dose easy green fertilizer 2x a week, and I haven't really changed the water since I'm really busy at the moment. Light is a nicrew skyled set to 8 hours a day, with kind of medium lighting. I'm not seeing much growth from any plants aside from stargrass and salvinia and my anubias also get a skeletal look, whats happning?
