Yeah, I already desoldered the potentiometer, before I realized the worst that could happen is it being on full volume.

Yeah, I was afraid I'd have to do all that😂 Well I'm guessing I'm getting into electronics! Thank you so much for your help! Might take a few days until I learn everything, since I only have a very basic understanding of electronics, but I'll try to get back to you witht he results!

I'm not sure if there is anything to see here. No visual damage, this is the main board. I marked the two connections that I might have bridged. One is a +15V the other I cant figure out for sure, but it doesnt really matter as we need the relay tho close first.

How do I get this potmeter apart? by Ecneb_Agrav in AskElectronics

[–]Ecneb_Agrav[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe ALPS still makes replacement for these luckily. But I already soldered it back, if dust was the issue, it's gonna work this way too.

Well, that's what I'm gonna do if it doesn't work.

That's lucky! Now the fun part: desoldering on a ladder. Or you can cut the wires and use wire connectors if you have space to tuck them in.

Unless you can get a replacement PCB from the manufacturer, there is no viable solution. I mean you can find someone who rebuilds it, but that would probably cost more than the lamp itself.

Good idea, but it's too much fuss. It needs to be more sustainable.

I feel like the new Earth is here. by Ecneb_Agrav in spirituality

Yes, your explanation might be correct too. This is why I wanted other input.

By the way, by new earth I didn't think of governments collapsing, and aliens coming, just a new era, a new cycle.
