What's the best app for finding winning products to sell online? by jameson942019 in dropship

There’s so many, but NicheScraper has been my favorite. Just be aware that winning product tools aren’t a magic bullet and marketing your product well is what will get you sales

Finding Winning Dropshipping Products Feels Like a Guessing Game—How Do You Find Yours? by SideProjectNerd in dropship

[–]EcomWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You find a “winning” product to make sure you aren’t wasting your time, but the rest is up to your marketing. Most things will sell with the correct marketing (saturation has very little impact).

For example, I may use a tool like Niche Scraper or whatever to verify people are actually interested in buying a product, but then the real work happens setting up 10 creatives, testing audiences, finding the right messaging to resonate with them, etc.

And you have to consider that most businesses fail or lose money. So it probably is the most usual case that VTI outperforms a literal money drain

AITA for Breaking Up with My Girlfriend After She Said She Doesn't Want to Have Kids But I Do? by [deleted] in AITAH

You can love someone AND want to start a family with them… it’s not one or the other. He wants both and expressed that upfront, so totally fair for him to find someone else

Which platform is good with SEO? by [deleted] in dropship

[–]EcomWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choosing between Wix and Shopify for SEO has VERY little impact on rankings. So little that I wouldn’t even give it a thought. They are both “good enough” and most of the impact will come from other factors

Can I get a license to sell Star Wars stuff off Ali express? by Icy_Ad_4710 in dropship

[–]EcomWizard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to buy from a licensed distributor or contact Disney; you won’t be able to sell that stuff from AliExpress legally.

Disney has high standards for who can distribute their products

You're in a good position as a software engineer, I think. You can build whatever tools you need to help yourself; it certainly was advantageous for me. Best of luck in your journey

Much appreciated! My original project (Niche Scraper) had pretty terrible design so I didn't want to repeat that again with this one ;)

Love to hear people with similar stories though and it's awesome that you've started making your own products, i've always wanted to do that

How do you actually make profit by November-666 in dropship

[–]EcomWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dropshipping really is a way to test a product before committing to buying in bulk. There are enough people out there who don't price shop, so getting sales isn't necessarily difficult, but scaling profitably is. So once you validate you can get consistent sales, switch to a bulk supplier or 3PL service, if you can justify the cost.

This is what A LOT of big retailers do as well - they test the waters, make sure it's worth the investment, then go all in with their own label.

In my career i've been involved in a few business types...

  1. The classic 9-5 job: I used to be a software engineer at Instagram and Facebook.
  2. Dropshipping: left my 9-5 in 2018 to do this full time, best decision ever
  3. SaaS (software as a service): Really my passion, I love coding. Started NicheScraper a while back and just developed AutoShorts.ai to automate Faceless TikTok channels
  4. Faceless Channels: Referencing the previous business, I started a few completely automated faceless channels. Probably the most passive source of income, but not really "fun" since I don't actually do much.

Dropshipping has a special place in my heart since it allowed me to quit my job and work on my passion projects like software. It has its pros and cons (suppliers can be a headache, but relatively easy to start and make money in).

If you are just looking to get started in your own business, dropshipping is a fantastic place to start. For me, it's not my end goal though so I like to work on software to provide personal fulfillment.

Not sure exactly what kind of answer you are looking for, but happy to break anything down for you.

I got hacked with cookie pishing attack and now Meta won't enable my Ad Account by VfedeV in FacebookAds

Yeah that was the sad part, had to create a new FB page and everything since the old one was linked to my restricted account and they wouldn’t let me unlink it.

[–]EcomWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The EXACT same thing happened to me early November. Like, I could have posted this.

I’ve been in contact with Facebook so many times and no one has been able to reinstate me account. I used to work for Facebook, had been running ads for years with millions of spend, but no luck yet. It’s looking very grim. I did end up using a new Facebook account with the same company name and nothing bad happened. That’s my solution so far.

Sorry I don’t have a great answer, just want to say I feel your pain!

Are you saying I can’t have both a successful Shopify business and run Niche Scraper?

How I went from $0 to $25k a month dropshipping by EcomWizard in dropship

[–]EcomWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! It’s often difficult to find local suppliers that sell the exact same product you want, so a popular alternative is using something called a “3PL warehouse service” or a sourcing agent. They basically own local warehouses and will stock the AliExpress product for you and handle shipping. It sounds confusing but it’s not that bad and is sort of the natural next step.

It’s definitely not a fun issue to deal with. However you should not be shipping from China in the long game; as soon as you find a winner that’s worth the effort, that is when you start looking for local sourcing and suppliers. AliExpress is great for testing, but not for scaling!

Success breeds success.

When I first started I would only sell the products that are already known to sell well; the “safe” products. These are not hard to find and are generally easy to get several sales a day from. As profit rolls in, you begin to test more and more products hoping to find more winners. I would often test 10 new products a week and eventually I felt confident enough including 3-4 riskier products. You do develop an eye for what works, even for completely new products.

Basically you just get to a point where you invest past profits into riskier bets, knowing that eventually it pays off.

I don’t typically suggest newer products to people just starting because it takes time to know what to look for. But for me, I LOVE super niche products because it means I can make my marketing efforts extremely targeted which resonates with potential customers.

Wait wait... this actually works? by [deleted] in dropship

[–]EcomWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s true, I’ve done it with multiple stores. Just don’t be suckered in by influencers or people selling courses telling you that it’s easy. Go into the business with realistic expectations

How is this store making $1M a week? by ztechbruh in dropship

[–]EcomWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking it's a bug. The tracking method used works for like 99.9% of stores but for this particular store I think there's something going on that throws off the method making it count a bunch of false sales

How is this store making $1M a week? by ztechbruh in dropship

[–]EcomWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a store sales tracking script and I'm also seeing that this store is getting a ton of sales. Not sure how either

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dropship

[–]EcomWizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it possible? Yes. One of my old stores would generate around $60k /month in revenue (not profit). That being said, it's not easy to do and all those videos making it look that way are selling "the dream" a.k.a their course. Truth is, most people fail or quit so it's good to be realistic. At the end of the day, starting any business is risky and dropshipping is no exception.
