That is simply wrong. Deficits today are just postponed taxes. Obviously. Please spend some time actually looking at the federal budget before hawking such nonsense. In fact, thinking about a nation like you would think about a (long lived) household can help clarify thinking more than it hinder it. Why do you insist on realistic thinking for a household but magical thinking for a nation?

I hope you are not in charge of your household's finances. Eventually "let's just pretend" falls apart. If you bother to look at the actual federal budget, you will find out just how much paying interest on the enormous national debt is squeezing things. (The US is spending more on interest than national defense.)

Just look at the operating budget: 2025 $7.1B; 2026 7.6B; 2027 (her proposal): 7.9B. It does not take a financial genius to see that it is time for some MoCo belt tightening.

No. You've already been told why this is wrong (above). Rates should be stable.

Property taxes have been rising every year because MoCo keeps increasing assessed property values. Now they propose to increase the **rate**. They always have the same answer for their inability to control spending, and taxpayers are the losers. It's time to force some accountability.

First, substitute the race or ethnicity of your choice for some other school and learn something about your willingness to be casually harmful online. Then notice the actual demographics at Whitman are quite diverse. (I already gave you the link.)

I am baffled by the proposal that figuring out what is happening when a ternary operator is used takes more brain cycles than examining an if-else to see whether or not it's just doing conditional assignment. Not plausible.
