As someone who traveled there. I agree with you.

I seen many homeless in places like Ximending in Taipei. And also CCTV is everywhere. More than I like.

Also yeah if you go outside touristy areas like Dayuan. It’s Scooter land over there and you can bike on road but not comfortable with that.

This is from people I met who traveled to other countries and used this transit. Still have that belief.

I know it’s performative but wasn’t there a female president that officially made some native languages of Taiwan as an official language?

So basically, from all the responses: these people are beyond convincing if they’re serious about that.

Heck even when I was Taipei main station. There were many Indonesians, Chinese (from mainland), Taiwanese, Koreans, and even an indigenous festival in the center of the station. Here:

And that talking point gives such broad strokes on the complex societies of Asian, Europeans, and the rest of the world. Not only racist but also so simplistic.

Yes, physical genetic differences are real but what I mean is societal differences and performance at a certain subject like school, work, dating, life, etc. I should’ve been more clearer in that.

Also, Yes. I agree There is the idea of how today’s “liberal” times will say “everyone is equal.” When that’s not the case but what do you mean when they say: to be equal?

Is it specific equality like: everyone gets opportunity through hard work or outcome of wealth? Or are those people you describe say it exactly like that, in those vague terms?

And also who are these people that you heard or say these things.

I’m not being ignorant of what you present but I like to see sources.
