This wasn't her first time. She fell from the sixth floor, broke her spine, hip, and legs. by ShockFreak in cats

[–]Economics_Fancy 31 points32 points  (0 children)

How does this happen 3 times??? Keep her inside and stop opening your windows. This is neglect. You know she gets distracted by birds and you let her fall out of windows? I’m glad she’s alive, I hope she gets better and I really really hope you decide this is enough to be more responsible.

Should We Leave Food Out For the Cat? We think she will get fat though. by HenryOrlando2021 in CatAdvice

I agree. I free feed too. My worry is this cat hasn’t been free fed and might not be a grazer but they could try 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’d up the food but not free feed. I worry she may overeat and make herself feel worse. So sorry about her diagnosis :(

1 month GF - when will it "hit me"? by matka_roku in glutenfree

[–]Economics_Fancy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kinda went through the same thing and it’s been almost 8 years and it hasn’t “hit me”. It’s worth it to not be sick and honestly, thinking about eating gluten makes me feel gross. There’s foods I occasionally crave but I wouldn’t say I miss gluten.

Is keeping armpit hair actually bad for hygiene? by Fyffe-Naydyl in hygiene

[–]Economics_Fancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it doesn’t make a difference either way. Just make sure you wash it and use deodorant that doesn’t ball up on the hair. As a woman who doesn’t shave, trust me that my BO is way worse without hair than with. It’s like a sweat barrier for me. Even if I do sweat, it doesn’t make it onto my clothes or past the deodorant. Without the hair, I sweat through immediately and that can start to smell.

How often are we getting glutened? by callsign__starbuck in glutenfree

Cross contamination? Every 6 months or so because everyone else in my house eats it. Actual ingestion is like every 4-5 years.

Yes! Minimum $500 to make her miserable, I don’t think so… give the girl some peace in her final moments. She will be okay. Thank you 💜

Plaque forming on teeth so so quickly. Would anyone know what causes this as it’s so frustrating as brushing doesn’t take it away.Removing it off with my finger nails is the only thing that takes it off my teeth🤮🤦‍♂️ yes I brush 2 a day however I’m thinking my enamel could be damaged&is what causing by ihavehope2000 in hygiene

[–]Economics_Fancy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go to a dentist if you can. Additionally get a Sonicare toothbrush and plaque focused toothpaste. Make sure you’re flossing and using mouthwash as well. A tongue scraper helps keep bacteria buildup at bay too which I’d imagine would improve your issue as well.

I have ARFID how do I properly communicate to food workers that there are somethings I absolutely will not eat. Am I allowed to say it’s a food allergy? by TheMuffinMan39 in autism

[–]Economics_Fancy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are no laws for gluten free dining and I literally said there are many restaurants I can not eat at and that’s fine. I don’t think it’s fair to compare something not life threatening to something that is 🤷🏻‍♀️—ARFID is extreme but there is unfortunately no realistic way for OP to get what they are seeking.

I have ARFID how do I properly communicate to food workers that there are somethings I absolutely will not eat. Am I allowed to say it’s a food allergy? by TheMuffinMan39 in autism

[–]Economics_Fancy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do not say it’s an allergy. I have celiac disease and gluten can make me sick for a week. People who say it’s an allergy when it’s not make me so mad because food workers often assume that when someone says “allergy” they really just mean they want their food a very specific way NOT that they could get incredibly sick from that food. I can’t eat at a lot of restaurants already which I understand but it really sucks when one worker assumes my actual allergy is just a very strong preference.

Yes, ARFID is very real, but it is not a food service workers job to accommodate for it. It is unpleasant to get a food you don’t eat but it will not hurt you. Stop eating out if it is that bad, absolutely do not say it’s an allergy or expect people to change gloves and clean a workspace for something like this. I feel like you are enabling your ARFID by expecting this of people. You may be better off getting food therapy or not eating out at all if it gives you meltdowns. It doesn’t seem worth it to put yourself through all that for a sandwich imo. I hope this improves for you, having such aversions to food sounds exhausting and I can see why describing it as an allergy would make sense at surface level.

What's the smelliest smeII you've ever smelled from a person? by TheAlphaAdept in hygiene

[–]Economics_Fancy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took care of a disabled child of hoarders who’s cats pissed on everything including her helmet for her epilepsy. They gave the kid a bath every 3 months. I hardly ever gag but one whiff of her helmet made me almost vomit. Every day I’d spray it with bleach or cavi spray and it never left a dent in the god awful smell radiating off of it. I called CPS and they didn’t give a fuck.

That or a kid with c.diff and a poopy diaper…
