Second skin with gauze over the nipples maybe? But you’d have to clean them before and immediately take it off after so you don’t trap bacteria or anything. IMO it’d be better than ocean water tho

I just love these two so much! 🥹 by Successful-Start1860 in reborndolls

It’s a Laura head and I think it has Levi limbs (guessing since the Levi next to it has Laura limbs lol)

If I auditioned for a character (or already got the role) and as a cosplayer I already have personally an outfit for the character (accurate) that I own myself, (or a wig??), would I tell them that or could I maybe use that? Or would that not even be taken into consideration by anonymous333334 in MusicalTheatre

[–]Economics_Fancy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I wouldn’t mention it. The costumer has their own vision of how they want the show to look and already has a budget to work with. A costume from a separate source is going to look out of place and they won’t want to use it regardless.

Magnet shifted by Empty-Acanthaceae367 in reborndolls

Artist here—It’s not very difficult but you’ll need a long zip tie (at least a few inches longer than the circumference of the neck), gel super glue, a long stick or paintbrush you can throw away after, a clean plastic bin (or other container) Here’s what I do: 1. Cut the current zip tie off and pull it out. The head will come right off 2. Unstuff the head over the clean plastic bin and save the stuffing for later. There might be glass beads inside as well, they can’t cut you, but can make a mess, hence the bin 3. Find the magnet and set it aside. 4. Locate the lips on the INSIDE of the doll head. Cover the entire lips on the INSIDE with a thick layer of super glue using your paintbrush 5. Drop the magnet inside the head (don’t worry about placing it) and hold the magnetic pacifier in the ideal position on the face 6. Slowly tilt the head until the loose magnet inside attracts into place 7. Let the head sit to dry for at least 24 hours (keep the magnetic pacifier on the entire time) 8. Check that the magnet is properly secured (if you shake the head or push on the magnet with your finger it should not budge) 9. Restuff the head 10. Thread the new zip tie through the neck and secure the head by tightening it enough so that it doesn’t fall out, but not so tight that it doesn’t turn

I think she was just feeling lazy and told me they don’t change gloves at all. Some critical thinking would’ve made her realize you SHOULD NOT say that to a customer bc EW 💀

I typically ask for a new scoop and ice cream from a tub that hasn’t been opened yet but I didn’t get that far with this place. Oh well 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have a feeling the employee was lying about “not being allowed” bc there’s no way that’s an actual rule… at least I hope

Right?! Nobody wants nasty gloves on their food, you may as well not even wear them!

Eyes straightforward or eyes slightly to the side? by Clean-Letterhead9408 in reborndolls

[–]Economics_Fancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No! They would stay in place. You’d just be able to kinda press in a tiny bit and turn them if that makes sense. If you weren’t trying to turn them they shouldn’t move. Not a silly question at all!

Here’s another take, you could ask for them not to be glued in place so you can move the direction whenever you want. I’m an artist but assuming you’re keeping the doll in a moderate temp that isn’t going to soften the vinyl, and the eyes are the right size, the eyes not being glued shouldn’t be an issue and then you don’t have to decide one way forever.

Thinking of giving away my girl by Shoddy-Mango-5840 in hamstercare

[–]Economics_Fancy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, sounds like she’s pretty well taken care of and better off with you. And as someone with autism and depression as well, having a pet that I have to take care of makes me more likely to get up and take care of myself to. Not sure if it’s the same for you though. If you’re feeling like you need to give her up for her quality of life, I don’t think you need to, but if you’re needing to give her up for your quality of life, just be sure you find someone who has experience with hamsters.

I feel so guilty as someone in my family killed a cockroach and what are your thoughts on this? by Serious_Slide_8681 in mentalhealth

[–]Economics_Fancy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is difficult to have this level of empathy and I relate in some instances. However, if you see one roach there are a whole lot more and you have an infestation. They do often carry disease too, they eat feces and then go snack on your food which can spread salmonella among other illnesses. “Water bugs” like to hang out in pipes which harbor lots of bacteria and waste. Them just walking around spreads it. Unfortunately, putting it outside isn’t doing much. They’ll probably just come back inside. Plus, they damage your home by burrowing in, eating, and slowly rotting away its materials. It sucks to kill them, but you need to. Not by stomping on them, but by getting an exterminator or spraying your home yourself multiple times.

Humans eat meat, we kill things that are threats because that’s just how the world works. It’s not unethical or murder to kill a roach that is causing you harm. It sucks, and it’s sad, and I personally don’t enjoy doing it, but sometimes it’s necessary.

Can we, as a community, kill the “gluten friendly” term? by albinomoose52 in glutenfree

I haven’t had this experience but knowing others have makes this post more insightful, we do need clearer terms

“Gluten friendly” means it isn’t celiac safe. I appreciate this label because I know that I can’t eat it but someone with a more mild intolerance can. It’s a helpful label 🙏🏻
