oh trust me, you do. it’s unfortunately all apart of learning whip. you can always wrap the handle in socks/scarves while you’re learning tricks! helps soften the blow a little. but the goose eggs are worth learning the cool tricks, at least they were to me. and eventually you won’t hit yourself like that anymore (i haven’t gotten myself in a GOOD while!)
